"I Still Love You"

(Inspired by the DDLC song)

I see the void
Still staring back at me.
It's soothing at this point,
Like a gentle lullaby.

That's all I can describe it,
Like a music box
And all its twinkling sounds,
Meshing together to form a song.

It makes me remember
Of what used to be,
But then I stop,
Remembering my own deal.

I told myself I'd stop worrying;
Stop waiting by the door for you,
Stop hoping you'd call or text,
Stop thinking about you.

Our past was amazing
But it's been years now.
In order to grow,
I force myself to move on.

This doesn't mean I stopped caring.
Quite the opposite actually.
But my feet hurt from standing,
Waiting for you to come back.

So I'll keep forgetting you,
As much as I may try.
I'll still love and support you
But now I must finally say goodbye.

Goodbye to the memories.
Goodbye to your gifts.
Goodbye to the past,
And good luck wherever you are.

Just know I still care
But our paths are too diverged now,
So I still love you,
But now I finally learned to leave you.
