Chapter 1Rosy

Oddly, you were walking towards a newspaper rack which never happens to you. The news, especially in your city, never sparked an interest but now you stand centimeters away from the stacks of gray paper.

You tilted your head, picked up the daily paper, and placed it down on your lap. You sat on the steel bench beside it.

"That's ten bucks." A little boy with a hat placed sideways on his head said. You made a face at the awfully high price for a newspaper. Don't they cost a dollar?

You looked at the boy and you were sure he didn't own the rack. He was tricking you into getting extra money. Ten bucks! That's absurd.

"Relax. I'm only checking out the cover. " You said and went on reading.

"You could've just watched it from afar."

You took a breath.

"I have poor eyesight." You lied and sent him your scariest glare which thankfully drove him away.

You never liked children, specifically the irritating ones.

You straightened the newspaper and squinted your eyes at the text.

Minsons' Chairman Outraged!
Last night's extravagant and lush opening party for the new bar and casino under Minsons' name ended in total disaster when the chairman's son, Min Yoongi, trashed the party shooting mockery insults towards his own father.

A picture was shown at the bottom of the page. A person who looked somewhere around your age was laughing at a man in his 50s who looked like he was about to burst in any second.

"That's messed up." You commented and placed the pile back to its place. See, the news wasn't interesting. Instead of writing about a newly evolved virus, they were talking about a spoiled rich boy.

You sipped on your strawberry milkshake as you head towards somewhere quiet and peaceful. The sun was already setting and you don't have much time for daylight to go back to the dorm.

You arrived at a friendly-looking alley and you sat down at the corner, staring blankly at space.

"I don't need it." A voice suddenly shrilled. "No, mom. I said no."

You turned to check who was yelling.

It was a man in dark clothes and if it could get any more cliche than it already is, he was also wearing a hoodie that draped over is face while he shouted at his phone like he wanted the whole city to hear him.

You didn't like how he somehow ruined your moment and you hated  how he talked to his mother.

"Excuse me," You said and picked up a tiny rock. You lunged it at him. Bingo! Right at the back of his head.

He turned around abruptly.

He muttered something on the phone and ended the call.

"Did you just throw a rock at me?"

"No."

"Why did you throw a rock at me?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at you.

"You're were loud and disrespectful." You said as civil as possible.

He snorted.

"It's a free country." He said. "And it's none of your business."

Maybe your period was coming up because this man was aiming at your nerves. Something in you was indicating to pick a fight.

You pretended to sigh.

"Could you come closer? So that you'll be able to hear what I am about to say." You said.

He gave you a look.

"I just want to properly apologize for interrupting." You explained.

Exactly like you wanted him to, he agreed with an arrogant smile.

Strangely when he was only a step away from you, it was as if you've seen him before. You're a hundred percent sure you've encountered this man at least once in your life. You just didn't know when, how, or where.

As you stare at his face, the more curious you get. His name was lingering at the tip of your tongue.

You pushed your thoughts aside. This isn't the time to remember this man. This is the time to teach this man a lesson.

You raised your hand up to flick his head, but he was quick enough to catch your hand in time before you could even strike him.

"Damn. You abusive or something?" He asked, staring you down.

What he just said definitely does not mean anything green. It was just was you've been reading a lot of kink lately and it has been haunting your mind. Therefore, your cheeks flushed a tinge of red.

"You're blushing." He said, looking at you weirdly. "Why are you—ohgod. Do you have daddy issues?"

He bursts into laughter. Was he really easily ridiculed by that?

Your teeth gritted in irritation.

His laughter died down and now he was looking at you like you were some crazy teen who was obsessed about sugar daddies.

"Nice to meet you." He said.

You rolled your eyes. You couldn't believe your mood went downhill just because someone caught you blushing.

You decided not to say anything more. He was only a passer. You know, like the kind of person you encounter once and never see again. So you let him be.

When he was gone, you slid down on the ground. You took a sip from your already warm milkshake and forced yourself to enjoy the remaining time of the day before you could go back to college.
