Chapter 22Boss

For what shockingly felt like a week that was actually just two days straight, Min Yoongi was nowhere to be found. Not in the dormitory, and not even in the news where his name was always written in bold.

You haven't heard of him since the secret mission he did together with Jungkook that opperated solely on you. In short, you were slightly disturbed of his disappearance.

Yoongi has grown on you—deny it if you can —not just as a roommate, but as a part of Jimin's group of friends, and maybe as your own friend.

What the hell? I know.

You banged your head on your study table. It was almost nine o'clock in the evening, and you looked pathetic.

Cough.

You bolted on your position, standing up hastily in the process. Your heart was beating rapidly inside your chest because of the shock that suddenly crossed all over your body.

Your eyes focused on the door where Yoongi leaned on casually.

He smirked at your baffled face. "Missed me?"

"...No." You muttered in response.

"Really? Because I just spent a minute here watching you with worry written all over your face, thinking that I've gone permanently."

"I was worried about Taehyung worrying about you because he was feeling lonely." You lied. It was the only excuse to that popped into your head.

"I think you're the lonely one."

"Oh, please." You rolled your eyes at him.

Yoongi laughed.

He scratched the back of his neck when silence fell upon you.

"What are you doing in your sleep clothes?" He asked, eyeing what you were wearing—a plain white shirt and baby blue pajamas that were too big for you.

"Because I'm going to bed." You answered like it wasn't already obvious.

Yoongi shakes his head.

"Dress up. Your shift starts tonight."

The lights of the space was set on low, making the room dim and silent with no music from the Dj's corner. The place was still closed. It opens at 11 pm, and it's slightly past ten, but there was already a line outside the famous Minsons bar and casino doors.

Yoongi led you inside through the back door because he wanted to avoid people noticing him.

Inside, there were workers already clad in their sleek and sharp black uniform with a matching apron tied by the bottom of the waist. They didn't look like ordinary workers because the uniform looked very classy. Instead of night workers, they looked like sexy professionals in black.

Yoongi brought you inside his office, his name written on the door.

MIN YOONGI
CEO

At the age of 21, he was a CEO? How influential can he get?

"I thought your dad was CEO." You told him once you entered his office.

"He's the chairman, and CEO." Yoongi answered, referring to the whole Minsons company. "I'm a CEO, but only on this branch. This bar and casino is practically mine. It's my idea, my proposal, and my business. In other words, I'm your boss."

You nodded slowly, taking everything in. Yoongi being your boss at work suddenly feels heavy, wrong, tiring, and awkward at the same time. Yoongi being boss could be an advantage in such negative ways, like purposely giving you waves of work to tire you.

It was odd that Yoongi was someone that had different titles in your life. He was the spoiled brat in the newspaper, a roommate, a fellow college batch, Jimin's friend, and now, your boss.

"You know, I only hire attractive people to please my customers." He told you.

You stopped moving and you eyes slightly widen. Is he...saying I'm attractive?

You were contemplating whether you should ignore it or say thank you.

You pulled up a confident smile and decided to take it the smug way. "I know I'm good-looking."

Yoongi raised his eyebrow and looked confused for a second. "I didn't say you were. I meant I'm doing this for you as a friend."

You sulked down and huffed, rolling your eyes at him at the same moment. "Thanks though." You said naturally, hiding your embarrassment.

Yoongi hides his smile as he watches you with amusement.

He opens the drawer to his left and takes a similar black apron and gives it to you. "Wear this. You're assigned at the bar."

"I don't know how to make drinks." You said, unsure.

"I'll teach you." Yoongi said. "Come."

You arrived at the bar section of the venue, and entered the marbled counter. Below it were different tools and glasses that could be used to make drinks. The different kinds of alcohol, ranging from light to hard, were neatly placed on the glass shelves.

"This," Yoongi raised a small box full of cards that seem to contain ingredients and procedures of each beverage they serve, "is your helping aid. Follow everything, and you'll be fine."

You spared him an awkward glance after looking at the box. "I thought you were going to teach me how to make drinks."

"Honey, I don't do the teaching. I do the counting." He said and rubbed his fingers together like he was holding dollar bills. "These cards are enough to help you."

You slowly took the box from him and there were definitely procedures on how to make Bloody Marys and many more that you can think of.

"Jisung also stations here. You're his helping hands—if that's not already obvious." Yoongi muttered the last part and pointed to a guy who was cleaning the marble counter. You didn't notice him before.

Jisung sent you a smile and you gladly returned one to him.

Yoongi checks the clock. It was almost eleven.

Yoongi turns to you. "You better be nice to my customers, Kang Y/N." He says seriously. "I'll be in my office."

Yoongi sends you a nod and walks away. The neon lights were turned on and the Dj has arrived. Before you knew it, the venue was filled with people after the doors were opened by the security and you were working on your first shift of the night.
