Chapter Twenty Seven
The doorbell rang at half past four. She knew it was Karen Kay. Lea rushed to the door with a towel around her body. Sid had already called to confirm if he was going to be there.
"Hell yeah, I wouldn’t miss it for a date with Leonardo DaVinci" She answered with a laugh.
Leia opened the door but instead of a Karen was obviously a Kay.
"Bonjour, whoah, you are prettier than I expected, pardon me I am Karen Kay"
He extended his arm.
Who was this funny person who looked to be a woman trapped in a man's body.
Leia smiled.
"Do come in….can I call you Kay?"
"Sure dear"
"Please make yourself at home, coffee or tea?"
"Tea please" He said.
"Leia walked away, and returned with a cup"
"Let me guess, Columbian, Armenian?"
"African" Leia replied with a smile, taking a seat close to him.
"Wow, you have the face of a goddess, I would love working on you, what is the occasion if I may ask?"
"An art exhibition"
"Classy, sophisticated……" He made his analysis.
"I would love something more Arabian"
"C'est tous!" He clapped.
"Let's go to work then"
In a couple of minutes, Lay was working on her face.
"Can I see?"
"No dear, not yet"
"What if I don't like it?"
"You would love it, trust me"
He smiled at her and continued to work. They conversed and Leia found herself liking him, he was funny and very interesting. They talked about everything, from the Kardashians to the Oscars to the latest movie to Donald Trump.
From their conversation Leia found out that he was half French, half Italian. He grew up in France but studied in Italy and only came to New York to make the most of his talent and he had made a name for himself. He was good at what he did.
"Voila" He said at 5:35pm and handed her a mirror.
"Oh my God, I can hardly even recognize me"
"See, the Princess in you just came to life" He praised his work.
"Gosh you are so damn good" Leia admired herself for a minute as he worked on her hair.
He was done in a couple of minutes. He curled her black hair and decorated it with a hair chain.
Leia was impressed. She loved the makeover.
"Put on your dress, lets see how you look" Kay said.
Leia hopped off the chair she sat on and rushed in to put on her dress.
"Mon Dieu!" Kay exclaimed, clapping his hands together.
"How do I look?"
"C'est magnifique, this gown is très extravagante, vous ètes belle"
"Merci" Leia curtsied.
"Now the challenged" She raised the heels.
"You can't walk in them?"
