Chapter Forty Four

It was at when Jazmine walked to the table with Jael that Khalid new for sure she wanted to spite his father. Her words earlier had gotten to him and she wouldn’t meet his eye. Jazmine was disgusted by him nad she showed it when he grabbed her arm in attempt to talk to her. She snatched it back with a look of disgust. She said nothing but he knew better, he just let her be.

"Look who is joining us"

"That…..thing…." The Sheik struggled to find a word for her.

"……would not sit at my table"

"Dad you the one who said no one leaves" Khalid was first to speak.

"He has a point, besides what is wrong if she eats with us…" Aunt Fathiya said, standing up from her seat and walking to Jazmine and Jael, she took her Jael's hand.

"Come dear….sit with me' Aunt Fathiya led er to the vacant seat beside hers and Khalid stood to pull her a chair to the woman's amazement. She forced a smile just as Kay arrived.

"Sorry I'm late, it was my mom" He gesticulated to tell them he was on the phone.

"Let's eat" Aunt Fathiya said and they began to dish out, everyone but the Sheik who stared at Jazmine with a hate that was penetrable. Jazmine saw it but she welcomed it and began to dish out food for Hali who looked so frail at the table of her enemies, it was to her exactly what the Lord promised in the book of Psalms……for both she and Jael…'I will prepare a table pefore you, in the presence of your enemies'.

Jazmine smiled as she dished a fork full of vegetables into her mouth.

"Mmm, this is good" She said.

Jazmine was not surprised to hear that the gates had been opened the next morning. She hardly had any sleep, all she did was think. Aamir was back on his feet but evidently still sore.

Jael thanked her and Aunt Fathiya and Hali found a driver available to take them home, Jazmine made Kay go with them just to make sure nothing happened.

That afternoon, they had a team of journalists over to interview Khalid and the conference room was being prepared. Jazmine immediately had a plan, a very devious one at that.

She dressed up into a pretty embroidered olive green and went in to give him the support everyone expected her to give. It was already out that Khalid had a pretty fiance.

The interview began and she was really impressed at how he had handled it, at a point he had wanted to cross his legs unconsciously, she knew that gesture very well right before he did, thankfully, she met his eye and signaled him not to. He cleared his throat and sat up.

"Tell us Khalid……we heard you'll be getting married soon, how soon is that?"

Khalid smiled and then looked at her, Jazmine.

"This weekend, we both want to before the elections"

"Congratulations and Morocco will be looking forward to it, but I bet everyone is wondering when are you unveiling your bride?"

'Soon" He smiled

Jazmine felt herself become stiff.

The weekend was in a couple of days and she was not prepared mentally for a wedding. She felt trapped but remained composed, smiling meanwhile biting her tongue to stay still.

"How did I do?" Khalid walked up to her first and hugged her for the camera's planting a kiss on her forehead and said.
