Rabat, Morocco
The Moroccan air was different, Jazmine filled her nostrils with the first wave of air that hit her in the face.
"Feels so good to be home" She shut her eyes and smiled.
"Madam?"
She opened them again to see a rather sweet faced man dressed in a thobe. He smiled at her and bowed his head lightly.
Khalid was behind her talking to his pilot. They had flown in his private plane to Rabat and to continue their journey to Sefrou where his family had moved to.
The driver held opened the door of the vehicle.
"Oh, thank you" She gave a slight bow, adjusting her veil.
Khalid joined her and they took off. Jazmine was quiet, watching keenly through the glass window.
"This is your home"
Khalid said.
"I can hardly remember it"
He took her hand and placed it on his tigh, she smiled at him and he smiled back.
Jazmine was quiet throughout the rest of the journey.
They arrived in Sefrou two hours later and drove through the city which to her surprise had really changed. She could hardly remember anything, it all looked so different. Jazmine watched the women on the streets, the people selling, going about their normal duties. They were home, unlike her who hardly knew if she even had a home, she intended to make one for herself.
"Jazmine" Khalid's voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Mmm?" She turned to him.
"We are here" He said and that was when she noticed they had arrived at a huge gate. The walls were so high. She did not even have to ask why. They drove through but all they saw was what looked like a maze, then a fountain and royal palms. Finally they arrived at the mansion.
The mansion was breathtaking in every sense.
It looked like a little town on its own with a long stretch of road and a walk path as well.
Khalid's door was opened and he stepped out first then Jazmine's too, then she noticed a woman, with her were two maids both dressed in uniforms. The woman smiled and Khalid was first to embrace her.
"Aunt" He said. He kissed her hand and hugged her again.
"My boy, look at you" Jazmine smiled as she watched on.
"Aunt, this is Jazmine, my fiancee"
"Come here sweetheart don't be shy" She said with an accent.
"This is my Aunt Fathiya, she is the best, she practically raised me"
"Jazmine, she is beautiful" The aunt said sincerely, smiling sweetly at her.
Jazmine walked to her and bowed politely.
"Welcome to Morocco"
"Thank you"
"Come on in" The pretty woman said and led them in as the servants took their bags.
"Where is dad?" Khalid asked
"Your father hardly stays home these days"
"His health?" He questioned again
"He's improved" His aunt respondeed
"That is good to hear" Khalid smiled.
"I bet you two will want to freshen up" Aunt Fathiya said, turning to Jazmine.
