Shailene POV:
Every night it gets harder and harder for me to sleep.
There are two babies sitting on my bladder, I'm eating for three people, the babies are kicking more frequently, and my stomach is much bigger.
I am in the kitchen trying to finish dinner.
I drop a spoon.
"Grrr..."
I try to pick it up.
I can't reach it.
I groan in frustration and bang the fist against the table.
Theo runs into the kitchen.
"What's wrong, Shailene?" Theo asks.
"Everyday I get more and more disabled! I can't do anything!" I shout angrily.
"So, would now be a good time for me to pick up the spoon?"
"Theo!"
"I'm kidding."
"Well it's not funny."
"I'm sorry. Shailene, you're pregnant. Things get harder to do."
"Well, you're not helping!"
"Shailene--"
I walk up the stairs.
"Enjoy sleeping on the couch!" I yell and slam the door.
I sit on my bed quite annoyed.
I turn on the TV and lay down.
Then I feel hungry.
I groan and walk back downstairs.
I see Theo in the kitchen putting whipped cream on raspberries.
"I was just about to bring these up to you." Theo says.
"Why?" I ask.
"I know you usually get hungry around this time."
"Thanks."
He looks at me.
"Theo, I'm sorry that I've been such a handful. I know it might not look like it but I am scared. I'm scared out of my wits. I'm terrified." I say.
He hugs me.
"Shailene, it's okay. I'll be right here with you every step of the way." Theo says.
"Thank you."
Theo kisses my forehead.
I pop a raspberry in my mouth.
Theo opens his mouth and I toss a raspberry in.
I sit down.
I can't believe I'm at halfway mark in my pregnancy.
How am I going to feel going through labor?
Do I want a home birth or a hospital birth?
I have to research things like these.
I grab the laptop and search somethings about labor and delivery.
A Cesarean Section or C-Section?
You know what they say?
Curiosity killed the cat.
And I'm dead.
A C-section is the surgical delivery of a baby that involves making incisions in the mother's abdominal wall and uterus.
But I either have to pick a midwive or my obstetrician. But midwives don't know how to perform a C-Section.
And 30% of women go through C-Section.
I told you. I'm dead.
I quickly shut my computer and bite my lip.
But that's only if my babies are breech and my babies aren't.
I sigh relieved.
I walk back up to my room where Theo is and lay on the bed.
I sit down.
Theo grabs my hand and put his other hand on my stomach.
The babies kick.
"Our two boys." I say.
Theo smiles at me.
He kisses my stomach twice.
"One each for our boys." He says.
Then he kisses me.
"And one for my gorgeous wife."
I giggle and then yawn.
"Get some sleep, Shai." Theo says.
"I'm not tired." I say yawning.
"Shailene. Get some sleep." Theo says smiling.
"But...I'm not...I..."
My eyes slowly close.
"That's my Shai." Theo says kissing my forehead.
