Jasmine's POV
Breakfast is amazing! Wilmer's obviously a better cook than my mom. I'm not saying my mom is bad at cooking, she's definitely had to learn over the years, but this is over-the-top delicious!
After breakfast, we go into the living room so I can open my presents. Well, first Mom has something to say.
"Jazzy, to be honest, when you were born I had no idea what I was doing. But, you are the best daughter any mom could ask for, and I love you so much. When you were taken, I was so worried, but everything turned out okay, better even, then it was before, and I am so grateful for that! You and Wilmer are my life and I don't know what I did to deserve you."
Mom's speech almost makes me cry, almost. I'm no cry baby. Wow, now I'm quoting Mom, how original...
Mom smiles, "First, I have a gift for you that I bought quite a while ago... close your eyes..." she says as my hands cover my eyes.
I hear mom come back into the room with the gift and am immediately curious, "open!" mom exclaims.
I open my eyes to see Mom holding a beautiful acoustic guitar, "Mom! Thank you so much!" I say excitedly. I've been learning some guitar from mom, but also teaching myself for the past few months; this is amazing!
My next gift is from both mom and dad, it includes a ton of random gifts that aren't extremely useful but are still fun.
"Thank you guys so much!" I say, a huge smile taking over my face. I definitely get that from Mom.
They nod and we join together in a group hug. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!
"Can you play us something?" Mom asks, pointing to the guitar.
I sigh with slight embarrassment, but gladly take the chance to play some guitar. I play the first song I ever learned, Let it be by The Beatles. Mom and Wilmer sing along with me. This is my twisted family, but I love them with all my heart.
