Demi's POV

The night doesn't go as well as I'd hoped. I start feeling terribly sick in the middle of the night and cannot sleep at all. According to the doctors, I am still recovering from my burns and inhaling all the smoke. I hope that I am well enough to go home within a week; I hate hospitals.

That morning, after a sleepless night, I am greeted by Wilmer and Jasmine.

"How did you sleep last night?" Wilmer asks.

"Not well," I reply, "I'm still in pain from my burns."

He nods. "Jasmine has something for you," he says, looking at my daughter with such love that I almost cry from happiness.

She walks to the chair without arm rests and sits down with her guitar that she saved from the fire.

"I wrote a song for you," she says, smiling slightly, grabbing her guitar pick.

Even though I don't feel the best, Jasmine's song really makes me feel better. I can't help but feel proud over the fact that Jasmine has picked up a lot of my musical talent.

"That was beautiful," I say once Jasmine's finished.

"Thanks, Mom," she says on the brink of tears. She stands up to hug me and then sits back down to put her guitar back in its case.

For her sake, I hope that I get well enough soon...
