Demi's POV

I hear a knock on the door and go to answer it. It's a police officer.

"Hello," he says, "You must be Ms. Lovato. We must ask you to come with us. We think we've caught your offender, he's James Grey, correct?"

I nod nervously. I'm not in the mood to deal with James now, but I have to. "Just let me tell my boyfriend that I'm leaving," I say.

"Please hurry," the policeman replies.

I walk back into the house to Wilmer.

"Wilmer," I start, "a policeman is here and they think they've caught James."

"I'm coming with you," Wilmer responds.

"I can do this on my own," I reply, "Just make sure that Jasmine gets to bed on time if I'm not back."

Wilmer nods, but he still looks a bit nervous about me seeing James without him.

I go back to the door and look at the policeman, "Let's get this over with," I say, following him out the door and into the police car.

We arrive at the police station, a few minutes later, and the policeman leads me into a room. I sit in a chair behind a desk and I flinch a little as James is lead into the room by a police officer.

"Is this him?" the policeman asks.

I nod, a little scared.

James is lead back out of the room and a policeman sits across from me.

"We are planning a trial which will start in a week and we are welcoming you and your family to give a victim impact statement in court, unless you don't want to."

"I'll be there for sure," I reply. "But, can I leave and go back home now?"

The policeman nods and brings me back out to his car to bring me home.

Arriving back at home, I think about what to say about how James has affected me and I really don't know where to start. Of course, without him, there wouldn't be a Jasmine, but other than that, I hate him.

"What was that about?" Wilmer asks as he gives me a hug.

"They just wanted to confirm James and asked me to come to court in a week to testify," I respond.

Wilmer nods, "Will you?"

"Yeah," I answer, "Don't want him to get away with nothing."

"Jasmine's in bed," Wilmer says when he sees me look around.

"Should we be too, then?" I ask.

Wilmer smiles and we go up to the bedroom.
