I am silently crying in the back seat as I wait for Wilmer to come and drive me to the hospital. How could this happen? We were all fine, but I guess happy moments aren't meant to last. Wilmer climbs into the front seat of the car and drives to the hospital quietly. Neither of us are in the mood to talk.

We arrive at the hospital soon later and are told by the receptionist to sit in the waiting room for the ICU until further information on Mom's condition is given. I break down crying so Wilmer picks me up and carries me up to the ICU and sits me in a chair to wait.

"Hello," a women says stepping into the room, "Family of Miss. Lovato?"

Wilmer nods and grabs my hand as we walk to the nurse.

"Well," she continues, "I have good news and bad news. The good news is that she didn't get too badly hurt but that she mostly just fainted because of shock, but the bad news is that, the impact of falling has hurt her head and given her a concussion. She should be ready to move into a regular room soon, though."

A small smile breaks out on Wilmer's face. Sure, she has a concussion, but it could have been much worse. The only problem now is that James is on the loose.

The nurse leads us into the ICU hallway and lets us peak in the glass at Mom. She looks peacefully at rest, but I know the whole story and there is nothing peaceful about that.

At least we know that she'll be fine; that's all that matters right now...
