It is the rushed scrawling letters
That curve a deep impression
from the heart to the pen
It is an echo of the screams of the poet
Full of unspoken and shunned cries

It is entering into an ethereal world
The key, A few words on a piece of paper
Spoken and woven with tiny intricate threads
Eternal, ephemeral: an elemental daydream
What is a poem?
It is the subtle rhythmic patterns
Of carefully chosen words
That echo in the brain
Because the simplest words, when combined
can change someone's life

Entrancing, enchanting, tantalizing beauty
Of words intertwining in a perfect harmony
Dark, sombre, heartbreak and pain
Light, hope, eternal love and health
Written in dirt, but never forgotten
What is a poem?
From one heart to another
From one secret to another
From one life to another
Connected, Changed, Impacted -Forever.
