There was a knock on the door and I opened it immediately. Peter was wearing different clothes from before, and the smell was gone.

"So what did you want to talk about?" His brown hair swayed in the wind. Then I remembered he asked me a question.

"Right! Come in I have something to tell you."

I handed him a glass of water and he thanked me.

"No problem. Ok, first I want to apologize for leaving school so early." I said.

"Its fine. Sorry about Mr. Tom. He had no right to say those things." He took a sip of water and looked at me.

"S'ok. Oh! You're a science wiz right?" I asked him. He smiled.

"I guess so?" He sounded flattered. What a guy.

"Ok I need you to tell me what this is." I squeezed my hand and quickly pointed to the wall, where the white substance stuck. His eyes widen and he got up.

"Woah! What is it?" He touched it and the string vibrated.

"Thats why I'm asking you. Here." I took a pair of scissors and cut it. I handed him a sample. He held it in his hands.

"Well, off the bat, I know its webbing." He stretched it and smushed it.

"How do you know?" He paused.

"Its obvious if you paid attention in science class." He laughed and I joined him. He wrapped it in a napkin and stuffed it in his pocket. "Is that all you wanted to talk about?"

"Uh..." I thought about it. Should I tell him? He already knows about the webs. "Yeah. But I'm gonna need your help."

The dodgeball was hurling right at us. As usual, Peter was just standing there shocked. I sighed as I threw myself at him with such speed.

"Nice save, Rider!" Coach praised me. Peter thanked me. He stood up and instantly fell. Flash got him.

"Oh, Pete." I muttered but couldn't help but crack a smile.

"Hey, Carmen!" Flash called out. My mood changed from normal to rabid. I slowly got up staring straight at Flash.

"What did you call me?" I picked up a dodgeball and left no time for answers. I threw it at his face. He didn't expect me to hit bulls-eye. He fell back and his friends looked at me afraid.

"Time!" Coach stopped the game and sent us to the locker rooms. I quickly got changed and was about to leave when Sally and her squad approached me.

"Charlotte right?" She asked chewing her gum loudly. I could hear it in my ears louder than needed.

"Yeah. What do you want?" I stood up straight.

"I'm holding try-outs on Friday after school. You should come."

"Try-outs? For cheerleading?" I was awestruck.

"No, for fishing. She said sarcastic. "Of course for cheerleading!"

"Ok." I said and pushed my way past her. Three days ago, she never even heard of me. Now she wants me in her team? Ever since that day, my whole life is going for the better.

"Charlotte!" Peter called me.

"Hey. Find out anything about my..." He nodded.

"Yeah. Apparently, its natural." I looked at him blankly. He sighed. "Meaning that its something your body produces." My eyes widen.

"Like, hormones?" I asked worried.

"I don't know. I'll need a blood sample. I know how much you hate needles, but-"
