Seven

I couldn't sleep the rest of the night and ended up reading my old books. I had forgotten how much of a geek I was!

Soon it was morning and Harry was slowly waking up.

"Have a good sleep?" I asked without looking away from my book. I heard a groan and decided to look.

"I don't know. I had this nightmare." He paused for a moment. "I forgot." I laughed and got up. My vision blurred and I tried hanging on to something. Harry caught me instead.

"Thanks." I continued and made breakfast for us both.

"So did you sleep?" He asked already knowing the answer. I shook my head and he sighed.

"Whats wrong?" He seemed to be in some pain.

"Nothing. Just a real bad headache." He gave me a smile and I left him be.

I swung from building to building hoping to reach Peter's house in time. Right now, he was the only person I could trust with my secret. But for some unknown reason, I felt as if he knew more than he let on.

"I'm sorry, Charlotte. He's not here today." Aunt May invited me in and kept cooking.

"Do you have an idea where he could have gone?" I didn't know he had plans. He was probably with Mary Jane.

"Well, a few kids came over to pick him up." She said in thought.

"Do you remember their names?" Maybe I was wrong.

"Of course! Ava, Danny, Luke, and Sam. Nice kids." She smiled. I thanked her and grabbed my laptop out from my bag. I never heard of them and I know everyone at school. Even the teachers.

I was surprised at the new sudden protection to the school's files. But easily enough, I was able to hack in and look at the files.

Sam Alexander, Ava Ayala, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand were new students to Midtown High. Not much information was found. Only the usual. Height, weight, race, etc. No emergency number or anything. It all seemed weird.

I became bored and started changing my grades. That D in Mr. Tom's class? Now a B. I was in the middle of changing another D when suddenly, I was logged off. My laptop even shut down. I quickly turned it back on and erased as much trace of myself as I could. I left the doorstep of Peter's house and headed home.

I hid in a bush as I saw people come in and out of my house. They wore navy blue suits and some even white marshmallow covers. It all seemed suspicious but I was glad Harry wasn't there.

"Alright. Time to go. She could be back any minute." I heard Principal Coulson's voice order. Wait. Principal Coulson? Something was definitely wrong.

They packed up everything and left. I made sure no one was still around and sneaked in. I was surprised that everything was still in place. Nothing was moved, not even an inch (I checked).

My phone rang and Peter's caller ID appeared. I answered and loud wind noises covered his voice.

"What? I- I can't hear you!" I felt someone at my door and opened it. Sure enough, there was. I hung up and looked at the five people in front of me.

"Charlotte Rider, may we please enter?"
