I offered to carry the girl first but she insisted I save her mother first.

"Please." She gave me her saddest eyes. I finally gave in and carried her mother in my arms. She was surprisingly weightless. Or was I stronger? The girl hopped on my back and I ran to the nearest window.

"Miss?" The girl sounded scared.

"Don't worry. Just close your eyes." She did and I checked if anyone was looking. So far, no one came to check this side. I remembered a part of the book Gwen gave me on spiders.

I sat down in a desk by the window. I sighed an opened the book to a random page.

Abilities of a spider it read. Great. Well, it should be helpful.

I spent the rest of the class reading on how different spiders can jump far, crawl fast, lift things more than its weight and maybe even camouflage with its surroundings. I was back in reality when the bell rang for lunch.

The girl's coughing reminded me that I had no time to lose.

Carefully I put my hand under the woman to stick my other hand on the wall. I took a deep breath and let go.

Good news: It worked.

Bad news: The mother was falling to her death.

In a panic, I squeezed my hand and the sticky stuff from earlier came out. It caught her leg just before her head hit the floor. I sighed in relief as I gently let go, careful not to break her neck.

I heard the steps of people coming to my side of the building and decided to do the same. I let go and released the sticky substance to safely swing down.

"Open your eyes." I said taking her off my back. She slowly opened them and when she saw her mother safe, tears build up in her eyes and she thanked me.

"Thank you so much!" She hugged me tight and went to her mother's aid. She was regaining consciousness.

Me? I left before the reporters realized I just saved some lives.

The fire was over and I came just in time to see Spiderman coming out of the building with more people. Civilians applauded as everyone was taken to the paramedics. I took the chance to make a story for Daily Bugle to turn in later. James wouldn't want me slacking off.

"I have no doubt that Spiderman caused the fire!" James was shouting at the camera. "He is terrorizing our beloved city!" A looked up at a huge screen placed right in the middle of New York. "I have my best reporters working on unmasking this vigilante!" I sighed and left. I was one of those best reporters.

I was hungry so I stopped by the Café to grab a frappe. As always, Caramel. I was leaving when I stumbled into someone I know.

"Peter!" I smiled.

"Hey. How you doing." He said, sounding a bit guilty.

"Listen, Pete. It wasn't your fault. I ju-" I scrunched my nose. I sniffed the air once more and coughed.

"Something wrong?" He looked a bit offended.

"Are you smoking?" I whispered. His eyes widen and he shook his head furiously.

"No way!"

"Then why do you smell like smoke?" He paused.

"I had a BBQ with Aunt May long ago, and I dug this shirt up from my hamper. Smell must have stuck." He said sheepishly. I looked at him confused.

"Well, anyway, can we talk later? My house?" He nodded and we went our ways.
