Harry made a nervous laugh. We had absolutely no classes together. We made our way to Principal Coulson's office. Maybe if he saw my situation, he could do something about it.
"No." He said.
"Why not?" I asked him.
"You should just separate. I'm not changing your schedule." He said. "You do have the key right?" Harry scratched the back of his neck.
"No....?" He said nervously. I face palmed.
"Pass me a paperclip." Coulson threw me one and I caught it. I pulled the curved back so it would be longer and started to pick my way out of the cuffs. In a few seconds, I was out and getting Harry out.
"Wasn't so hard right?" Coulson smiled and Harry looked at me surprised. "Now, you have exactly 30 secs to get to class before you are marked tardy." He warned us. We ran like the wind.
"See ya at lunch!" I called and we went opposite directions.
"Wait!" I turned around in time for Harry to kiss me on the cheek real quick. "Save me a seat." He ran off leaving me stunned. The bell rang and I gained my senses.
"I'm late!" I ran to first period.
. . .
Finally, third period ended and it was time for lunch. I was starving.
"Charlotte!" Danny called me. I waved at him and waited for him to catch up. "Harry let you go?" He asked.
"You can say that." I smirked and he frowned in confusion. "Nevermind. What's up?"
"Do you know what happened with Spidergirl?" He said serious. That nickname....how'd that catch on?!
"Spidergirl?" I asked in pretended confusion.
"She's been missing since last week." Danny didn't seem like the gossip type. He was either really interested in SG, or suspected me. No way am I gonna fall.
"Yeah! I noticed! What do you think happened?" I needed to know what he knew.
"Well, Spiderman says he doesn't know what happened."
"Oh my god! You know Spiderman?" I tried to dodge his suspicion somehow. "Think I can meet him?" Best way? Fangirl.
It seemed to work. He hesitated. "Uh, I don't know. It was just by chance probably." He quickly replied and we started walking to lunch together.
I saw Harry in line and told him we were gonna sit with Peter. He nodded as the lunch lady dropped a spoonful of mystery meat on his plate. I cringed. I could have sworn something moved.
Peter looked exhausted. He had bags under his eyes and his hair was a mess. I felt bad for him. Without my help, he must have been working double shift. Oh well. He's done great without me before I got my powers right? Right?!
"You look awful." I said.
"Thanks." He said sarcastically while giving me a thanks to you look.
"So what happened with you for the week?" He said softly, even though the team wasn't here yet.
"Locked up remember? Couldn't exactly do night shift without dragging Harry along, thus exposing my identity, and ruining my life." I explained while sniffing the meat.
"Right. Can you do tonight?" He asked as Harry sat down.
"Do what tonight?" Harry curiously sat.
"Uh," Peter gave me a look. We basically had our own language. Look language.
"Tutoring. Need more study on tomorrow's science exam." I lied.
"Great! I'll go too!" Damn it Harry.
"Sounds like a plan! Tonight then!" I tried not to rip my hair out. It would be the first time in a week since I put on the mask and frankly, I wanted to be alone. I needed it.
The others finally arrived and we ate lunch. I confirmed that the meat was home to a creature wanting to eat me so I skipped lunch.
. . .
"I'll wait for you at Pete's house!" I shouted to Harry who approved. Wow. He might as well be my father.
I made sure I was out of sight and climbed to the building's roof. The wind pressed against my face, as if welcoming me back. I swung from web to web all the way to Peter's window.
"'Ello!" I tapped his glass and he let me in.
"So what excuse should I use?"
"Carter called and needed my help." I told him and he nodded. I'm seriously glad Peter was here. He was the only one who knew how hard it actually was to be a hero who might not be completely liked. Frankly, J.J.J has also found an interest in Spidergirl. Although I'm just a "sidekick to New York's number one menace: Spiderman!"
"Thanks!" I hugged him and left.
I found a good rooftop to change on and did so. I slipped on my mask and I seemed to just sink into the role of Spidergirl. "Haha!" I just had to laugh at how that name had catched on.
"Help! Help! I'm being robbed!" A woman below screamed and I sprung into action.
The man was running and so I jumped down from the roof and onto him. He got up and pulled out a knife.
"Oh no! I'm terrified of tiny sharp things!" I fake screamed. He jabbed at me and I dodged. I grabbed his arm and flipped him over me. He fell on his back and let go of the bag. "Come on! That was too easy!" He growled.
"Let's see how you do against this!" He pulled out a gun this time and fired at me. Luckily my spider sense warned me and I ducked under the bullet. I kicked my leg up and knocked the gun out of his hand and twisted my leg around his arm yanking him down. He hit his head on the concrete and was knocked out.
"Too easy." I laughed. The woman caught up and thanked me. I nodded and turned to leave when my senses went crazy.
I did a backflip over the woman as she tried to stab me with a dagger.
"My first day back, and people already want me dead. Home sweet home." I shot webs at her feet and pulled her. She fell but lifted herself back up with her arms and jumped back on her feet. "Ok. More than just a woman." I said.
She threw punches at me which I blocked and caught, some returning them. I squatted and slid my leg under her. She tripped. I covered her arms and legs in webs preventing her from getting back up. Good thing she wasn't strong.
"Get me out of here!" She yelled.
"Why did you try to kill me? I got your purse back!" I held her purse, which fell and revealed all her hidden weapons. "Ok...."
Wow! Two chaps in one night! I would love to thank anyone who is still awake and reading this!
Again, don't know how long it is, but I heard at least five to six songs so I hope it's pretty long.
Love all my readers and thank you!
