We ran to the command center where everyone was running around trying to locate the intruder. Fury barked orders to different groups giving them each a specific order.
"Move it!" Everyone scattered even more and I was pushed around by hurried agents.
"Fury! What's going on here!" I shouted over the noise. He noticed me finally.
"Spidergirl, I need you to stay in Iron Fist's room!" I stared at him.
"I-I can help!"
"It's not neccessary. Go." I furowed my brows. I can help.
"Where is the team?" I asked.
"They don't need you! I said to leave." Fury gave Carter a look and Carter picked me up straightaway and tossed me on his shoulder. He started running and I pounded on his back to let me go. He kept refusing and eventually gave up. Why won't he let me help? I knew it wasn't a matter of trust.
"We can slow him down! Fire!" A group of agents fired their weapons and a sharp laughter followed. I knew that laugh. I heard it once or twice, but it was unforgettable. "Retreat!" The group met with Carter and I and Carter turned around.
"Wait, We have to help them!" I told him. He didn't answer. "Fine! I'll do something myself!" I shot multiple webs catching a couple of guards and pulled them towards me. I reached for the others and did the same. They ran past us, which seemed to annoy Carter since he started to run even faster. I bumped up and down even more throwing off my aim. There was only one agent left to save when suddenly everything started to shake. Carter stopped running and looked.
BOOM.....BOOM.....BOOM.....
"What do you think it is?" Carter asked me. Then the origin of the sound crashed into the wall.
"Crap. Juggernaut." I exhaled as Juggernaut backed up and charged again. "RUN!" I shouted at Carter who realized the urgency and ran at top speed. The last agent was too slow and I couldn't aim right. He ended up as a cushion for Juggernaut's foot. "Sorry..." I whispered to no one.
Eventually, Carter started to get tired and Juggernaut began to catch up. "Spidergirl, slingshot me!" I didn't get what he meant at first but then I went into action. He stopped for a second while I prepared a slingshot with my webs. He got into position and strectched the slingshot back. I couldn't see where he planned on going until we were thrown forward and glass shattered around us.
"You jumped out a window!?" I shouted as he let me go and gravity pulled us down. I tried to stop spinning but I couldn't get into a free falling position. Since we were so high from the ground, it was difficult for me to breath. Panicking didn't help either.
"Hang on!" Carter shouted.
"To what!" I replied with the last of my air. I heard a big explosion and noticed that an engine blew up. Debris fell and I had to dodge them. Unfortunately, a huge chunk of metal hurled towards me before I could register it, and it knocked me on the head, causing me to lose conciousness.
I was bored out of my mind being surrounded by a bunch of addicts talking about their problems.
"Charlotte? Do you want to say anything?" Stephen, our councler, asked me hoping I would agree.
"Pass." I slumped in my chair and crossed my arms. He sighed.
"Please? This is the fifth time you pass." He pointed out and everyone gave me a pleading glance.
"Alright." I stayed in my position as everyone else straightened up. "Name's Charlotte Rider. I'm 15 years old and in a few months I'll be going to highschool." I waited for someone to interrupt me. No one did. "Um, I'm not an addict, my mom just thinks I am."
