I charged into Fury's office with Carter casually walking behind me. He would whistle an ancient tune that would get annoying by the third time heard.

"Fury!" I yelled as I saw that he wasn't in his office. I grabbed a nearby vase and threw it on the ground.

"Woah, anger issues?" Carter moved the rest of the vases away from me. "Why would Fury even have vases?"

"Maybe to smash whenever I don't listen to him or when Spiderman gets on his nerves, or when an unnounced person comes in here and starts claiming their an agent when really they just broke in and passed themselves off as one to just figure out everyone's secrets, so he uses the vases to distract them while he takes care of drinking coffee and at the same time shooting the intruder and getting rid of the problems he hates." I said in one breath. He just blinked at me.

"Okay....." He took a look around from where he stood. "It's obvious he isn't here. I would suggest not to smash anymore vases just in case he comes back."

"Don't tell me what I should or should not do." I snapped back and stormed out of the office. I would go back after I lost him and check the files.

"Don't you have school?" He asked.

"Not going." I said.

"You still need an education." He said as if he were worried about me. He probably was...

"I can catch up later." I spot White Tiger heading towards the breifing room and run up to her.

"Oh hey. Who's this?" She asks nodding her head towards Carter.

"No-"

"Carter Johnson. I'm Spidergirl's bodyguard." He offers to shake her hand and she accepts.

"Spidergirl needs a bodyguard?" White Tiger giggles to herself. "Just can't see it. I'm pretty sure she can take care of herself." She giggles a bit more before telling me where she's going. "Fury called us for a mission. You should come."

"That would be great, but Spidergirl isn't allowed to leave the carrier. Director's orders." I glare at him.

"Oh well," she looks away for a moment. "See you around?"

"Sure." I reply clearly annoyed. As soon as White Tiger is long gone, I turned to Carter and groan.

"You really gotta work on that temper of yours." He laughs. I quietly take three deep breaths.

"You're right. I'm sorry." I tell him leaving him shocked. He puts his guard down for a milisecond. Enough time for me to glue his feet on the floor and run away.

"Charlotte!!!!" He shouts. I flinch as he yells my name. Could he be any louder?!

I run back to Fury's office and search for the file cabinet as fast as I could. I knew he probably had cameras put all around the room, but I didn't care. It's not as if I were to steal his precious teddy bear he sleeps with all night. Yeah, caught him once with it.

"Found it!" I opened the drawer and there seemed to be an endless amount of files. Some thicker than others. I searched for the J's and saw the last name Johnson. I grabbed the file and stuffed it under my arm. I was about to close the drawer when the last name, Rider caught my eye. It was my file. I hesitated wondering if I really wanted to know what was in it. The sound of footsteps a few meters away made me act fast. I left my file and closed the drawer. I didn't want to know what was in it.

"Spidergirl!" Carter slammed the door open but I was already on the ceiling crawling behind him. He checked everywhere but didn't bother looking up. Idiot. I silently dropped in front of the door and by the time he noticed me, I was long gone.

I left the carrier and was currently free falling towards land. As the wind smacked my face, it also seemed to smack some sense into me.

Was I right to be so harsh on him?

I considered how hard he tried to be my dad again and my grip on the file loosened. I saw ground and held on to it once again. I waited for the right moment to shoot a web on a nearby buidling and pulled myself to the roof. I wasn't ready to bump into Norman just yet.

The file was a bit crumpled but not damaged enough. I opened the folder and there wasn't much in it. Just basic info I already knew. There was literally nothing else. "Damn you Fury!" I yelled to the sky. He probably predicted I would do this and planned ahead.

Then I got serious.

"I can hear you behind me." I said without turning. Carter came out of hiding and sat beside me.

"Look, I know I'm not your favorite person in the world right now." He started.

"Got that right." I muttered, which he probably heard.

"But I just ask a chance. Chance like last time." I considered it.

"Or if you want, start from scratch?" He gave me a geniune smile. I sighed.

"Fine!" Was the only honest word I might've said the entire day. He smiled and offered me his hand.

"Hi, I'm Carter Johnson. You're new bodyguard." I accepted his hand and introduced myself. I was glad that he didn't start off by saying he was my father. It made it easier for a beginning.

We got back to the carrier and I put back the empty file back in the drawer. I told Carter I wanted to train and he agreed. I headed towards the room when suddenly red lights turned on and alarms blared.

"INTRUDER ALERT. INTRUDER ALERT." The mechanic voice of the carrier warned.
