"More?" you asked, raising your eyebrows and dumping the third spoonful of sugar into Tom's tea

"More?" you asked, raising your eyebrows and dumping the third spoonful of sugar into Tom's tea.

"Yes, please," he smiled boyishly.

"So, the source of Spider-Man's powers is actually sugar," you laughed.

"And caffeine," he added, taking the mug from you.  You took a seat next to him on the sofa, cross-legged, sipping your own tea.

"So, I've been thinking..." you began.

Tom looked at you and smiled softly.  His hair was still a tangled mess from earlier.  He leaned against the arm of the sofa, brushing it out of his eyes after every sip.  He was wearing only his sweatpants, a pair that he conveniently left behind every time he spent the night.

"First, let me say, that I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings about coming to Atlanta with you.  I want to be with you just as much as you want to be with me.  Please believe me when I say that."

"I believe you," he said quietly and reached a hand out to stroke your knee.
Oh, thank god, you thought.  He's finally come around.

"I need you to understand the importance of maintaining my identity," you continued, "which has been a challenge for much of my life because I was always controlled by other people.  But I knew coming here, things had to be different.  I had to find that identity again."

You took another sip of tea then rolled your eyes, "I know that sounds so cliche."

"No it doesn't," he said, still smiling.  That smile.  It just made all the shit disappear, didn't it?

"I didn't want to be anyone's anything anymore, wife, girlfriend, whatever.  I didn't want to answer to anyone.  I didn't want to put anyone else first.  But then I met you," you smiled warmly at him, "and suddenly, I wanted to be yours and I wanted to answer to you and I wanted to put you first."

Tom put his mug down and scooted closer to you.

"But I can't..."

His brow furrowed slightly but you could tell he was trying to understand, and that's all you could ask for really.

"Not entirely, I mean.  Moving to Atlanta would be breaking every promise I made to myself.  It would mean leaving this new life that I've established, however menial it may be."

"I know it was a lot to ask," he sighed, "I think I panicked that I would lose you."

"You're never going to lose me, Tom.  Besides, what about, 'We'll make this work, Y/N'?" you asked, mocking his accent.

"I don't sound like that!" he yelled, trying not to laugh.

"I don't sound like that!" you teased, but really you sounded more like somebody's Gran or something.

"You're the worst at accents, darling." Tom shook his head, then took your hand.

"Y/N, I know you're very independent and a head strong and doing your whole grown ass woman thing..." he said.

"Grown ass woman thing?" you burst out laughing.

"You know what I mean," he continued, "you're not like other girls and that's what I love about you. I don't want to put you in a situation where that will change.  So," he shrugged, "we'll just have to see how it goes I suppose."

"Or...you could just move in with me?" you bit your lip and watched him closely.

"What?" he grinned at you.

For some reason, you started blushing, "I hated not being with you last night.  I don't think I realized just how much I miss you, even for one night, until you're gone.  You walk in here and you just light up the place.  There's that one towel that you always use and I never do because I'm like, that's Tom's towel.  Atlanta is YOUR thing.  You'll be living there with Harrison while you're filming your movie.  But this," you waved your hand around, "this could be our thing.  It never felt like a home until you started spending time here,"you crawled over until you were sitting in his lap, arms around his neck.

"I don't feel like I lose myself when I'm with you, Tom.  I feel whole.  You're a part of me and I want to know that part is going to come home to me every night," You nuzzled his neck and gave him kisses all over his cheek and forehead.

"Are you sure?" he chuckled, tickled by all the kisses.

"Tiger, I've never been more sure of anything in my life."
