Emptiness. Literally. It's all around us. But we never see it. In fact, we choose not to see it. We spend our life trying to fill the empty cup of life that we forget the emptiness was even there. Daniel James Howell notices. He never forgets the emptiness. He spends a good majority of his time just floating in the emptiness. Dan is in no rush to fill the empty space. He kinda just exists. He thought he was the only one who felt this way. His friends never really noticed. Dan thought he was alone with his thoughts. Never had anyone been so wrong about anything.
Dan hates school. Everyone hates school, but to Dan, school is a living hell where heathens go to congregate and make plans to make everyone's lives just a little bit sadder. Dan has always believed that as you make your way through life, pieces of your soul begin the decay and break off and when the last piece finally let's go, so do you. Now, Dan isn't a sad kid. He never has been.
His soul is just withering a little faster than everyone else's.
