Lily and Rick were working on something in the garage.

"No. It needs to go like this." Rick said.

"No. The formula says that if you put it like that, it'll explode." Lily warned. Rick rolled his eyes and did it anyway. "Ugh, you're so stubborn! Why can't you just admit you're wrong sometimes??"

"Because, Lily, I'm not. You always think you're smarter then me when you really aren't." Rick snapped. Lily glared at him and stormed out. Rick face palmed and followed her. He was having a bad day. Lily went to the kitchen and stormed passed Jerry and Morty. She stopped about what she overheard.

"Your mom was my Jessica. I remember I first saw her. I thought-" Jerry started.

"I should get her pregnant and then'll she have to marry me." Rick said, grabbing a glass. Lily crossed her arms and glared at Jerry. She didn't care to ask before, but she was glad she was finding out.

"Uh, excuse me, Rick. Inappropriate." Jerry gestured to Morty.

"Sorry. Please proceed with the story about banging our daughter in high school. I'm not sure you want to take romantic advice from this guy, Morty. His marriage is hanging from a thread." Rick said as he was making ice and a drink.

"My marriage is fine, thank you." Jerry retorted.

"Jerry, it's your house. However you say it is, it is, but I think a blind man can see that Beth is looking for the door. I barely have a reason to care and even I notice." Rick said, a bit coldly.

"Rick!" Lily said, glaring at her ex-husband. He shrugged.

"Come on, Rick. Don't talk about my parents like that." Morty said. Rick walked around to Morty's side of the counter.

"Listen, Morty, I hate to break it to you, but that thing you call love, it's just a chemical reaction in our brains that compels animals to breed. It hits hard, then it slowly fades. Leaving you stranded in a failing marriage. Your grandmother and I did it. Your parents are gonna do it. Break the cycle, Morty. Rise above. Focus on science." Rick said, walking out the kitchen.

"This is always where your grandfather and I disagree. Yes, it's a chemical, but after all these years, I still love your grandfather." Lily said, hoping to encourage her grandson some.

"Then why were you gone for so long?" Morty asked. Lily had realized up to that point that nobody knew what happened between Lily and Rick. All they know is that Rick thought she was dead and it turned out that she wasn't. Lily ran a hand through her red hair and sighed.

"Well, because, he cheated on me, Morty." Lily said honestly. She's never been one to beat around the bush. Morty looked at her in shock. He knew his grandfather was terrible, but not that terrible.

"And you still love him??" Morty asked, confused.

"Yes. Morty, your grandfather is human. Humans make mistakes. It is also human to forgive. Our marriage didn't fail because we fell out of love." She rubbed her grandson's head. "Whoever you love right now, Morty, give them time if they're not ready to be with you. Don't try to force it." Morty nodded and she walked out to where Rick was. She looked at him and put her hands on her hips. He sipped his juice.

"What?" Rick said, not taking his eyes off the T.V.

"Our marriage failed because you cheated. Not because we fell out of love." Lily said. She pulled out her portal gun and shot it open. "I'll be back later." Rick looked at her.

"Where are you going? We still need to finish the ionic defibrillator." He reminded her.

"Oh, do we? Because I'm not as smart as I think I am." She said coldly over her shoulder right before she walked through the portal. She took a deep breath and looked around. Her surroundings were nothing but trees. She knew exactly where she was. She started walking down a path, enjoying the scenery around her. She walked to a house and knocked gently. The door opened and there was Birdperson.
