they were back at the kitchen table.

"your kitchen's still the same," sanggyun tried to make light-hearted conversation, but the younger boy couldn't even look up at him.

he was terrified.

"what... what are you?" yongguk finally spoke up after three hours of them just sitting there. it was silent, but yongguk's mind was screaming with thoughts.

"sanggyun," he spoke earnestly, but yongguk shook his head.

"no," he muttered shakily. "sanggyun's dead."

the older boy looked at him, before looking down. "i-i can't mention anything. i have restrictions... i can only tell you things if you ask the right questions."

"restrictions? questions... what?" yongguk scoffed and stood up. "i need a drink."

"don't drink," sanggyun mumbled gently while the younger pretended to not hear him.

"ah, are you serious?" yongguk muttered. "i finished the last beer yesterday. kill me."

sanggyun watched as he sat back down and ran his hands over his face, grabbing a fistful of his hair in frustration.

"did... did you stop loving me?" sanggyun mumbled, tilting his head gently as yongguk felt his lips quiver. that tone... it was so familiar, so sanggyun...

"no, i fucking miss you - him - ugh," yongguk shook his head and looked up at him. "i miss sanggyun like crazy, but this... this is just..."

he then sat up straight and cleared his throat. "all right. may as well... try this out."

sanggyun straightened his back and smiled softly, excited that yongguk was finally starting to accept and understand.

"firstly... you're dead."

sanggyun nodded with a smile. it sent chills down yongguk's back.

"so... what? are you a ghost or something?"

"uh-ah..." sanggyun paused, before smiling again. "well, yeah, basically. we're called spirits, up there, but-"

"up there, spirits, right," yongguk muttered, sighing and looking right at sanggyun again.

he missed that face so goddamned much.

"why... why did you disappear in the morning? were you hiding or what?" yongguk sniffed, trying his hardest not to show his tears threatening to spill.

"i can answer this!" sanggyun grinned, standing up as yongguk leaned back into his chair hurriedly. "whenever you call 'hyung' with the intention of referring to me, then i come out. whenever you fall asleep... i go back up there and wait till you call me again."
