The castle was blessed with a lovely view of the crescent moon. Vanessa sat on the railing enjoying the view, when two vampires suddenly teleported behind her. Almost losing her balance, she gripped the railing and swung her feet back over.

Her guests, a middle-age vampire and Gabriel stood in silence.

“Thank you, Syole. That’ll be all.” She said, waving a dismissive hand towards the middle-age vampire. He bowed, then left the balcony.

“I got a call from one of your underlings. You know who ‘The Child’ is?” She asked.

“Indeed.” Gabriel replied. “Now all we do is wait to see if that human actually secedes in getting the boy.”

“A human?” She hopped off the railing. “Have you lost your mind?!”

Gabriel folded his arms, “I figured she would have a better chance in getting close to the boy if she plays it smart and doesn’t go barging in.”

“You can’t trust humans, Gabriel. They are foolish creatures. Until they taste the sweet power of immortality, they’ll do anything reckless.”

“But they’ll do anything for the power of immortality.”

Vanessa pursed her lips. “You didn’t.”

Gabriel smiled slyly.

She giggled. “You cunning bastard.”

“What can I say? I get what I want.” His smile dropping into a frown. “But I’ve waited long enough.”

“Indeed.” Vanessa agreed. “But what if your human fails?”

A twitch tugged at the conner of Gabriel’s lip. “I have a plan B. But if that doesn’t work out then I’ll personally take the child myself. If I have to kill my sons for getting in my way, then it shall be done.”

Vanessa placed her hand upon her chest. “So cold. Does your cruelty have no end?”

“I’ll keep no one from seeing her return to this world.”

“Even if it means killing your own son?”

Gabriel scowled. “What’s your point?”

“Well, it be such a waste wouldn’t it? Using a dead rotting body and all.” Vanessa placed her hands behind her back like a cute girl. “What if we use your youngest son’s body instead?”

Gabriel just blinked.

“Oh come on. Think about it. Why use something that’s been rotting for centuries when you can get it fresh.”

“Excuse me?” He growled.

“Oh come on. Where’s you imagination? Weren’t we going to use his blood anyway? Might as well use his body.”

“I don’t know whether to be annoyed by your ideas or if I should completely ignore them.”

“But you’ll think about it?”

Gabriel looked up at the moon. “Is the altar here?”

Vanessa nodded. “We moved it last night. Heavy little sucker but we managed. I made the clan understand that they’re not allowed down the east wing basement until I give the okay.”

“And the Sanctum said okay to this?” Gabriel gazed back at her.

She nodded and folded her arms underneath her breasts. Gabriel stole a quick glance at her cleavage.
