Agnés turned as a shadow stepped out of hiding at the other side of the alleyway. A stranger: a male vampire, red eyes, bald, stopped aging in his late forties, his body clade in a brown T-shirt and bluejeans. He wield a knife in his hand.

“One of Gabriel’s minions?” He wondered aloud. “I guess I was right with him being here to take Adrien.”

“That kid has a destiny to preform.” said the vampire.

“To kill all vampires? Are you that suicidal? If you want to die, I can grant that wish right now. Truth be told, I don’t feel like dying at the moment but you can go right ahead. Save a spot for me in Hell though.”

The vampire laughed. “Who says he’s being sacrificed to kill all vampires?”

Pain nicked his nerves as Agnés changed his mutant arm into his sword. It hadn’t fully healed yet, but it was still as strong as ever, given that the knife wasn’t made of silver. “I’ll make you a deal: tell me what’s going on and I may just let you live.”

A smirk crossed the vampire’s lips. “Or how about I kill you and not tell?”

Agnés unhooked his cloak and let it fall to the ground. “You might regret that.” He sped forward, throwing his left hand out. A great invisible force knocked the vampire up against the wall, but he didn’t stay there for long.

He vanished and popped behind Agnés, who turned just in time before the knife kissed his back, and blocked it.

Relief filled his heart when the black fibers of his arm stay as strong as diamond against the knife, causing it to bend. It wasn’t made out of silver, which meant he could win this fight fast and get back to the Belmont brother to stop Gabriel and Collin.

He jumped back then made an approach, sidestepping the oncoming punch and ran his sword arm along the vampire’s neck.

Blood sprayed like rain, drenching his face and hair in sticky red.

Strange, he thought, most vampires don’t have red blood. He must’ve been a rare exception.

The vampire’s body dropped like lead. His head rolled around down the alleyway before a women’s foot, wearing dark blue flat shoes, stopped it. Agnés cringed inside, keeping his expression calm, as he gazed up the feminine leg that poked out of the red slit dress with the low V-cut neckline. Her small figure looked slimmer in the dress and her black hair laid loosely upon her shoulders.

“I expected no less from a man of your talents, Agnés.” She said.

He wiped the blood from his face. “And I expected something more. . . .astute from you, Vanessa.”

The vampire witch pursed her lips as she looked down at the head her foot stood upon. “Do you know what I had to go through to persuade him?”

“Does it have something to do with a bed and some bondage play?” Agnés ridiculed. “Perhaps even. . . .a vibrator?”

That caused her to blush. “How rude of you! Accusing a lady of such things.”

“I didn’t think the Lady of Vampires did such things. You’re supposed to be the handsome women among vampires, not a harlot. What are you doing here?”

“I’m here for ‘The Child’.”

“Working for Gabriel then? Figures.” Agnés retrieved his cloak. He shook off the dirt then threw it back on, hiding his sword arm underneath. “You two are rotten apples tossed in the same bucket. I’m surprised you’re not married to one another.”

Vanessa rolled the head as if it were a soccer ball. “You don’t know what possibilities ‘The Child’ can offer other than kill our kind. We could use him to make the whole world bow down to us.”
