."Elianna..." Justin sighs, entering the bedroom.

"Why was she here?" I ask quickly, throwing my hands up to my sides before letting them fall again.

"You let her in." He says, giving me a look.

"I didn't know who the fuck she was! Plus, she kinda looked like she was gonna find her way in if I didn't let her walk in the door." I tell him, defending myself.

He sighs. "Okay. Fine. But babe-"

"Why was she here?" I ask again, cutting him off.

He licks his lips. "She wants the kids."

"Is she going to get them?" I question.

"Not if I have anything to do with it." He answers, scoffing.

""What's that supposed to mean?" I ask, furrowing my brows.

"She says she's taking me to court." He says, stressed.

"Is she actually going to?" I ask, now raising my brows.

"I don't know, Elianna, I can't read her mind." He scoffs.

"Attitude, Justin. Watch it." I warn.

"Mine? What about yours?"

"I have a right to be upset Justin. She just barged in and treated me like I was good for nothing in our home." I complain, my jaw locking.

"I have a right to be upset too, Elianna! I'm the one she left! I'm the one who used to be in love with her! They're my kids!" He says, raising his voice.

I lick my lips, allowing his words to settle in. "Right. Your kids. Got it." I nod.

"Elianna..." he sighs. "You know I didn't-"

"Yes you did." I cut him off, walking past him and downstairs before going out onto the back patio.

"I cannot believe you just said that."

Turning, Justin notices Mama Lee standing in the hallway, shaking her head at him.

"I have to be honest, I didn't think you were stupid enough to ever say something like that." She tells him, disappointed.

"Mama Lee-"

"I'm sorry honey," she interrupts, shaking her head. "You're wrong this time. Those kids may not biologically be hers but let me tell you something, that woman stepped up to the plate and took care of those babies as if they were hers all along."

Justin sighs, licking his lips. "You're right."

She nods. "Mhm. I know."

Justin walks past her, patting her back appreciatively and going downstairs. Reaching the patio, Justin slides open the door and steps outside, allowing the breezy air to strike him with surprise. For a moment he stands, staring at the back of the woman he's come to love. Sighing silently to himself, he licks his lips, finally speaking up.

"Elianna."

"What?" She asks.

Instead of her voice being broken as he thought it would, it's hard and emotionless. Almost as if she's shutting everything out.

His eyebrows furrow in confusion. "Baby, I didn't mean what I said like that. I didn't mean it all." He pauses, sighing. "Look, I know you didn't give birth to Elena and Kameron but you've been more of a mother to them than their own and for that I'm so grateful. I'm sorry."

"You can't just explode on me like that Justin." She says, her voice not softening a bit. "We've got to be a team right now. Especially now that she's trying to take them. I was upstairs and Kameron finally showed me how much he loves me here."

"How?" He asks, surprised as his brows raise slightly.

"He asked me if I was leaving because his mom was back and then he told me he doesn't want me to leave." She explains, sighing.

He gulps. "What did you say?"

"I told him I don't plan on leaving and I don't want to but also made it clear that anything can happen." She states, crossing her arms over her chest.

He nods. "At least you were honest with him."

"I'll always be honest with the kids. Even if they're not mine." She tells him, turning back around and biting her lip.

"That's the thing. They are yours." He sighs, taking a step forward and hugging her from behind. "I'm sorry. I was mad. I shouldn't have taken it out on you."

She sighs heavily, leaning back against him and allowing him to kiss her temple. "I know you shouldn't. And I also know you didn't mean what you said. But babe we've gotta work together right now. Just like we did when Hunter came back."

He nods, pulling back and letting her turn to him. "You're right. You do realize it could be a long time until this is over, right?"

She nods. "I know. But I'm sticking with you if you're sticking with me."

He grins, kissing her lips gently and pressing their foreheads together. "Always."
