"Thank you, again, mama Lee. We'll call at bedtime to check in." I smile.

"Okay, honey." Mama Lee says, smiling back at me.

I crouch down, kissing the kids a million times before standing and forcing myself out the front door, Justin following behind quickly.

"I hate leaving them." I frown, climbing into the car.

"I know, me too, but we've gotta do what we gotta do so we can give them-"

"Everything." I grin, nodding. "Yeah."

He grabs my hand and we both relax into our seats, enjoying the ride to the airport. Once arriving, we both get out and soon board the plane, getting comfortable and spending the time together yet apart. Justin answers some work emails as I take a nap, listen to music and even watch a movie... although we did come together for that one.

We make it to LAX five hours after leaving Canada, getting off the plane and getting into the car to take us to the hotel we'll be staying at. Once making it to the hotel and we're checked in, we go to our room and I unpack our things while Justin makes a few phone calls.

Soon, the time becomes 8pm in Canada making me pick up the phone and call Mama Lee.

After talking to the kids, Justin and I get ready before attending the first business dinner of the trip.. Which is also the smallest dinner we have planned as far as I can tell. Once back to the hotel, we go to bed, missing the feeling of our normal routine and wishing we were home to be with them.

But it's okay... we need to do this. For them. For the kids.

Two days into the trip, I've never missed the kids as much as I do now, knowing they're at home without us is harder than I originally thought it would be and I can't wait to go home in three days, 4 nights.

Currently at yet another business dinner, a much bigger one than the first night, my phone rings and I excuse myself, not wanting to be rude and answer at the table.

Once walking outside of the restaurant, I answer the call from my father.

"Hey dad."

"Hey honey, I'm so sorry for interrupting your trip." he starts, sighing.

"It's not a big deal, dad. What's up?"

"Well, you know we've been staying to look at houses and things so we can move and we were planning to stay at the hotel for the entire time..." he starts.

"Yeah." I nod, forgetting that he can't see me.

"The hotel suddenly changed the asking price for night and we can't afford it so we're trying to figure out where to stay now." he sighs. "So, I hate to ask this but honey, is there anyway we'd be able to stay and yours and Justin's place?" he asks. "Just until we're able to get approved for the house and everything."

"Well, dad, I don't think it'll be a problem but let me go ask Justin first and then I'll text you okay?"

"Of course, honey." he says and we hang up.

Walking back into the restaurant, I make my way to the table, apologizing for my absence and sitting once again. I the nudge Justin gently, getting his attention.

"My dad needs a place to stay. He can't afford the hotel anymore, they upped the price on their suite." I whisper to him.

"He can stay at the house, of course." Justin nods as if it's an obvious answer. "I don't want him out on the street, he's your father, we're all family." he tells me.

I smile at his answer, giving him the thank you he expected and letting him enter the conversation with everyone else again. I quickly text my father, telling him to head to our place and that Mama Lee is aware of the situation. I then text Mama Lee, making her aware.

After the business dinner, we go to the hotel and take our showers before watching a couple episodes of friends and going to sleep.
