Blow Us All Away Pt. 2

November 13th
Hamilton household

"Pops, if you had only heard the shit he said about you, I doubt you'd let it slide and I was not about to!" Phillip said, bursting into Alexander's study.

"Slow down," Alexander warily said.

"I came to ask you for advice this is my very first duel, they don't exactly cover this subject in bordering school."

Hamilton gulped. "Did your friends attempt to negotiate a peace?"

"He refused to apologize, we had to let the peace talk cease." Phillip huffed, crossing his arms.

"Where is this happening?"

"Across the river in Jersey..."

"Every thing is legal in New Jersey." the two quietly said in unison.

"Alright, so this is what you're gonna do," Phillip nodded. "stand there like a man until Eacker is in front of you and when the time comes fire your weapon in the air. This will put an end to the whole affair." Alexander told him.

"But what if he decides to shoot...then I'm a goner." Phillip nervously asked.

"No. He'll follow suit if he's truly a man of honor. To take someones life, that's something you can't shake, Phillip, your mother can't take another heart break."

"Father,"

"Promise me. You don't want this young man's blood on your conscience."

"Okay, I promise."

"Come back home when you're done. Take my guns, be smart, make me proud, son."

Market

Theodosia was walking around the market peacefully until she heard three women whispering in a circle. Theo wasn't much for gossip but she was curious, looking at the women's facial expressions, so she listened in.

"Did you here about a Hamilton challenging George Eacker to a duel!?" one of the women asked.

Before any of the others could answer Theo butted in. "Which Hamilton?" she warily asked.

"I think his name was Phill or something. All I know is he was really cute." another one giggled.

At that very moment she could feel her heart plummet into the pit of her stomach. "Thanks." she coldy said, walking away.

Hamilton household

Theodosia knocked as loud as she could on the door, hoping someone would answer soon.

"Hello? Oh, Theodosia, I suppose you heard..." Alexander asked, answering the door.

Theo scoffed. "You are a grown-ass man. Your son shouldn't have to protect you. Anyways, where is Phillip?"

"Um, in his room..." Alexander said, stunned by the girls aggression.

"Thank you." Theo muttered, pushing right past the man, going upstairs.

"Phillip Hamilton you better open this door!" she yelled, standing outside Phillip's door.

When he eventually opened the door, the first thing she saw was a wooden box on his bed.

"What's in the box." she asked, fully knowing what's in it, yet still hoping she was wrong.

"Theo..." Phillip whispered.

"Why, Phillip? Your father can take care of himself!"

When he didn't answer she became furious.

"I DON'T WANT TO LOOSE TO TOO, OKAY!?" she yelled, hot tears streaming down her face.

"You'll never loose me..." Phillip whispered, wiping the tears away with his thumb. "Never."

"Please, don't leave me."

"I love you." Phillip answered, pecking her lips.
"I love you, too..."

"I have to do it, Theo."

She broke, starting to violently sob into his chest. "D-Don't leave m-me."

"Never."
