Chapter Eighteen

The park

July 17th
Park

Theodosia Burr and Phillp Hamilton sat underneath an oak tree, watching the children play in the feild ahead.

Phillip turned his head to the girl on his right, "You said you wanted to talk to me?"

"Oh, yes." Theo mumbled, turning herself to face Phillip. "The Reynolds Pamphlet..."

"Oh..." all the blood drained from Phillip's face. "What about it?"

"You didn't do anything rash, did you?" Theo asked.

Phillip turned his head, facing away from Theodosia. "Phillip," the girl whined, grabbing his hand, intertwining their fingers. Blushing heavily, Phillip whiped his head around to question Theo. As he quickly turned his head around he relized Theo's face was closer than expected, their noses touching.

"Hello there..." Theodosia breathlessly whispered.

In response Phillip tenderly connected their lips. There's that wonderful feeling again. Theo thought. Phillip slowly pulled back, shyly smiling at the girl in front of him.

"Hello to you too." Phillip laughed.

Theo giggled, pulling Phillip into a tight embrace. "I'm glad your my friend." she whispered, laying her head on his chest.

"Do friends kiss each other?" Phillip sarcastically asked.

Phillip! You ruined the moment!" Theo scolded playfully, swating her bo-friend's arm.

The pair spent hours talking to each other, chasing each other, and finally, napping on each other.

Theo woke up, looking down to see Phillip's head in her lap, her hand in his curly hair. She blushed, but continued to pet his hair. After about four minutes of silence, Phillip's eyes fluttered open, a goofy grin spreading across his face.

"Good afternoon, my dearest, Theodosia." Phillip greeted, staring up at Theo.

Theo giggled, leaning over pressing a soft, sweet kiss to Phillip's lips. "Good afternoon."

Phillip pated around his chest, feeling for a pocket. Once he found the pocket he pulled out a small silver pocket watch. He checked the time and his face changed from glee to worry.

"Phillip? Theo asked, as Phillip stood up, fixing his boots. "We gotta go, I have to get you home before dinner." Phillip stated, lending Theo his hand.

She happily accepted, standing up. "You have to get me home before dinner?"

"Well, of course. I am going to escort you home." Phillip stated as if it was obvious. Are you okay with that?"

"Oh... yeah! I just normally walk by myself." Theo told Phillip, loosely grabbing onto the inside of Phillip's elbow. The boy blushed at the sudden contact.

"We kissed three times today and your blushing at me touching your elbow?" Theo sarcastically asked.

"So?" Philip mumbled.

Theo just shook her head in response.

Once they reached Theo's house Phillip pulled her into a tight embrace. "Write me?" he whispered into her ear.

"Of course." she whispered back. The pair slowly let go of each other. "I gotta go, Angelica will not be pleased." Phillip chuckled.

Theo nodded, walking into her home. "Bye Pip!" Theo said, opening the door. As she opened it Aaron was waiting on the other side, glaring at Phillip. He closed the door, leaving Phillip to walk home alone.
