Chapter Seventeen

Reschedule

July 17th
Hamilton household

Phillp and Theo found a day to reschedule their meeting in the park. That day was today.

Phillip made his way to his father's office to tell him he was going out. Telling his mother was out of the question and Angelica wasn't there yet. He knocked on the large oak door waiting a response.

"Come in." Alexander said.

Phillip opened the door and stepped into the office. Alexander was surprised to see his son, given that they never talk anymore.
"I'm going out." Phillip stated.

"Where?" Hamilton asked, not that he didn't trust his son. He was sixteen, but just to be safe.

Hearing his father care about him made Phillip happy. "To the park with a friend."

"What friend?" Alexander pushed, with a raised brow and a smirk.

"Theo." Phillip mumbled, blushing bright pink.

"Mhm," Alexander smirked, " What do you two plan on doing?"

"She said she had to talk to me." the younger of the two said, his blush still very prominent.

Alexander nodded, "Very well. Make sure to be home before dinner, otherwise Angelica will not be pleased."

Phillip nodded and walked out.

Burr household

"I'm going out father." Theodosia called to her father, smoothing out her dress. Aaron walked up to Theo looked her in the eye, "You aren't going to see the Hamilton boy, are you?" Aaron asked.

Theodosia looked away, chewing on her bottom lip.

"Theodosia," Aaron sighed.

"Father, I'm his only friend and he's going through a tough time-"

"Number one, I bet he can find more friends and number two, were you just going to lie to me? Sneak behind my back? What was your plan, huh?" Burr loudly asked.

"No! He can't find more friends! Nobody wants anything to do with him! They all think he's like his father!" Theo took in a deep breath, calming herself. "This isn't about me, it's about Phillip. You are so preoccupied on 'Keeping me safe' that you never stoped to think about the other parties involved. He needs me dad, he needs you, too. Please."

Taken aback by his daughter's statement, Aaron turned around to leave, letting Theodosia go but being held back by a pair of arms around his waist. "Thank you daddy." Theo whispered into Aaron's back, muffling her voice.

"Anything to make you happy..." Burr whispered.
