"Tomorrow night?" Clary screamed. "That's way too short notice don't you think?"
"Yes I do but I can't just refuse and it would help me out with the clave because we didn't exactly stick to the rules since we met you, you know." Jace was sat on the bed in the institute, watching Clary pace back and forth in anger. He patted the side of the bed for her to sit down next to him and she followed instructions. Sighing as she flopped down. She complained about how it wasn't fair that she wouldn't get to see Jace for a while and laid back, closing her eyes and wishing for as much time as the could get with each other. It wasn't long before she was smelling the usual sent of Jace as she rested her head across his chest. Finding comfort in the hardness of his chest and the steady rise and fall of it. She fell asleep knowing how she was safe she was and had a peaceful sleep, dreaming about before she knew she was a shadowhunter and her fond memories with Simon.

Clary woke up the next morning to find that Jace was gone. Her heart began to race, scared that he left without saying goodbye. He always stayed in bed even if she was still asleep and watched the steady rise and fall of her chest. She found a not witch said that he had gone to train with Alec and spend the day with him. Apparently Izzy wanted to see her too. She flopped back onto the bed with a slight huff and closed her eyes for a moment before a brief knock came at the door. The door opened slightly and Izzy came in, balancing a large wooden tray on her arms she peeked through the door. She took the tray toward Clary and sat with it, next to her. Upon the tray was enough for two.two plates of fixed stacked pancakes with strawberries on top with two cups of coffee with them.
"Morning." Izzy said, her hair over her left shoulder and her head tilted to the right.
"Morning, what's this for?" Clary replied, sitting up so she could eat her breakfast.
"I heard about Jace leaving. Figured you would want to--" she began in a calm, soothing tone.
"Throw a party? Just what I was going to suggest" she giggled. Alec was given the task of keeping Jace occupied as he was no good at party planning, and Magnus wanted to help out, with a surprise for his husband of course. They both are their breakfast slowly, enjoying their morning without any "men".

Magnus arrived not long past twelve, ready to party plan. He handed both Izzy and Clary a clip board with a few suggestions on themes. Izzy smirked as read through which pleased Magnus, Clary in the other hand was rather amused.
"Servants and masters, I could see the fun there. Twilight, I think Jace would puke." Clary burst out into a fit of laughter as she read the next suggestion. Magnus knew exactly what she was laughing at and waited for her say what it was. "A duck theme, he would kill us all, literally." She leaned against Izzy as she caught her breath. Once they picked the theme of 'fully mundane' they got to work. Making sure not to use any magic of any kind. Clary made the invitations for people and let Magnus and Izzy go and buy the decorations. There were multiple occasions where one of them called Clary for advice on what mundanes do because Izzy wouldn't believe Magnus. This sort of thing was always sorted for them and didn't know what plain mundanes would do or how to decorate.

Clary was shocked when they came back with the perfect decorations. They got farewell bunting coloured in a deep blue and white, a disco ball and laser lights. For once they didn't go over the top, and they didn't manage to under do it.  When you reach a certain age the decorations get pointless and stupid because it's the people you're with that makes it look beautiful. When you're with others you don't see the decor anyway. Once they had finished putting up the decorations Clary and Magnus started on the finger food whilst Izzy called for the pizza. They surprisingly wouldn't let Izzy near the home made food but Izzy didn't care because she picked out hers and Clary's outfits whilst they were busy.

Izzy was wearing a low cut black dress that clung to her body like a second skin which ended half way down her thighs, she wore five inch black open toe heels to match. Clary was wearing a similar green dress that showed less skin. The back of her hair was up in circles, allowing a small section of it to frame her face, curling around to her shoulders. She wore deep green heels that matched her brothers eyes and couldn't wait to get to the party. They got back to the main room to see lights flying around the room and bunting dotted all over so you could always see some. There was a wide variety of foods from chicken nuggets to caviar. There was a small open bar to which the bar Mia worked was helping out with, serving drinks for a veriety of species. Clary was breathtaken by the sight of it all and there was still half an hour before people were to arrive.

Luke arrived first with Jocelyn, suffocating Clary with a tight embrace. A few people from the institute showed up to say goodbye to Jace, including Robert and maryse Lightwood. The apartment seemed to be half empty after everybody but Jace and Alec arrived which seemed odd to Clary. She was so used to seing it so full at magnus' house parties.
"They're here!" Someone yelled, Magnus killed the lights and instructed people to hide in the bedrooms.
"What are doing here anyway Alec?" Jace said from the doorway.
"Because I want to spend time with you before you leave." Alec replied, worry slowly creeping into his voice.
"Suprise!" Everybody yelled as the lights and music came back on, blinding Jace and shocking him so much he stumbled back into Alec.
A horde of people swarmed Jace to say goodbye and generally catch up with him before he left, leaving clary to observe from afar. Her body aching for his touch. Once she found her chance she jumped at it. She Rajat Jace and jumped on him, catching him off guard. She helped him off the floor after she recovered from her burst of laughter. Once they were both up she hugged him tightly and kissed him, dulling the ache inside of her.

Once the party had ended Clary aloud Magnus, Alec, izzy, maryse and Robert to say goodbye before she kept him for the rest of thine they had together. Alec had told Clary that Jonothan wanted to have a night in because he wasn't ready for the big parties where people glared at him for what he did with the dark shadowhunters before he died. Clary understood this and took Jace off to a spare bedroom to have a second night to remember.
"A parting gift." Jace had called it.

Clary hugged Jace for the last time before he went through the portal, she looked deeply into his eyes as he left. Something was wrong. Those were not Jace's eyes, they were filled with hurt and pain. It almost looked as if he was screaming out his cry for help. Before she knew Jace was gone, the portal had closed and Clary gasped for breath. She had not realised that she was holding her breath. A singular tear spilt over her cheek as worried about the look in his eye. He had not looked at her like that since... She couldn't think of it. She knew she had seen that look before but she tried to forget what had happened whilst Jonothan was pouring out his terror over Alicante. She knew that this was going to be a hard parting.
