Can I go back in? (Part 1 Of The Family Series)

Simon? Blood? Death??

That night Clary fell asleep in Jace's arms within the safe walls of the institute. It wasn't long after that Jace felt it was safe for him to fall asleep too. He didn't know how Clary was going to sleep due to her loss and confusion with Luke and Sebastian to those dead mundanes. Seeing them must have disturbed Clary enough. He managed about four hours sleep before he woke to see that it was two thirty in the morning and Clary had begun thrashing around and crying in her sleep. She then fell still,still breathing, and posed some rather confused faces. Jace wrapped his arms around me her tightly so she couldn't hurt herself and as he did she whispered his name gently and settled down pretty quickly falling back into a deep restless slumber.

"You sleep okay last night." He asked her as she got out of the shower the next morning. Her hair still pinned to her skin from all of the moisture. She seemed to freeze slightly at the question and thought carefully about her response.
"Yeah, you?" She replied with a slight shrug and a nod of her head. She carried on to the wardrobe where she plucked out an outfit and put her hair up in another towel, allowing a single strand of her hair to curly Infront of her face.
"Yeah, just fine," he responded, trying to mask the confusion in his tone. Inwardly he pondered about why she had just lied to him about how she had slept when he had calmed her down during the night.
"Any dreams?" He asked cautiously, trying not to let on what he knew.
"What is this an interrogation?" She joked, sniggering to herself at what she had said. Jace looked shocked, he couldn't tell if she was being defensive or if she was actually hurting. He smiled and forced a small chuckle, hoping that it was what she was after. Clearly it was as she carried on getting herself ready, smiling into the small mirror. Jace was slightly concerned about her abnormal behaviour and decided to leave her in peace for a while so she can cool down. He met Izzy and Magnus in the kitchen where they were eating pop tarts and drinking coffee. Once they saw Jace they both smiled and greeted him warmly before getting engrossed into their previous convosation. Jace made himself some breakfast and began to eat. Izzy and Magnus talking about the wonders of what he had done in India seemed to mainly bore Jace apart from one particular topic. It got cut short though by Clary making an appearance so he couldn't hear the rest of the story.
"Hey," she greeted the three. They greeted her with the same warm comfort as they gave Jace.
"Simon had gone to look for Luke, got a text this morning." Izzy smiled, knowing that Clary would appreciate Simon's help with her problems. Jace watched the tension flow out of Clary, her body relaxing and easing into the counter top as she made herself some breakfast. She turned to Izzy and smiled.
"Say thanks for me." Was all she managed before the toaster popped behind her.

It was silent as Simon glided through the woods, ducking, jumping and dodging the trees and their branches and roots. The sun hit his skin but all he felt was nothing, the warmth from the sun and not the breeze as he forced his way through it. He signed up lightly trying to see if the luke had left his scent anywhere that he could pick it up. To his unfortunate surprise, there was no scent. He was sure that like would come round these woods as he had gone camping with Luke, Clary and Jocelyn when they were kids. He decided to take a break from running so fast and began to stroll through the woodland area. As he was walking he came across a deer which was drinking by a nearby lake. At first he could only hear it. Its slow and steady heart rate, then came the licking of the water as it was lapped into its mouth. Then the breathing. Simon didn't realise just how peaceful the woods were until now and he loved it. This was a perfect place to hide and escape the dramas of the world, but he knew that the peace wouldn't last long if he stayed. He had a mission and was determined to finish it. He eventually saw the deer, it didn't flinch of even turn to look at him as he stood behind it, about ten foot away from its rear end. It must have not heard his footsteps or his body functions due the lack of body functions. Simon gazed at it for a while as it drank, wishing that his life could be that peaceful, nobody caring about who he was, not bothered if he was forgotten. Soon enough the deer moved on and he too knew that he had to move on.

It grew dark and Simon had still not yet found Luke, he felt like it was time to sleep soon but his fear for Clary's sanity got the better of him. He knew he had to find Luke so he could give Clary what she deserves. Then it hit him, just as he about to head up a nearby tree the smell filled his nose. Before he knew it his fangs were out and he was alert. His senses going crazy. He had a hit. A strong smell of blood bad hit him. This must be Luke's doing. It was early an animal by its scent but Simon didn't want to risk any other mundanes life. After all, this was a regular camping spot. He rushed to the sight of the blood and to his suprise he found Luke.
"Done?" He questioned as he found Luke. His body was named and his eyes bright yellow in the darkness. Tears welled up in his eyes as he nodded gently.
"Clarissa?" He replied with a stammer and a crack of his voice.
"Fine, she is still fine. Worried about you though, not for long and you'll be back." He said, his voice un-normally calm. Luke nodded slowly as slaiva erupted from his mouth, he fell to his knees and began to sob into the floor. This wasn't a contained cry at all. This was an ugly, heart felt cry of pain.
