Chapter 5
Over the next few weeks my bruises slowly disappear, the four stitches at the back of my head started their healing process. It’s almost the end of the school year and Isabelle has spent every second with me. She’s always there for me and I couldn’t love her anymore for it. She’s the one I want to be with the rest of my life, she makes me happy and I can’t see myself with anyone else. Jason kept his head down after being excluded for a week after the fight. He was forced to apologise unless he wanted his parents involved in the case. I was put in detention for the next 2 weeks during free periods as I was sitting my exams and couldn’t be excluded from school.
One week left till summer, I can’t wait to get a break from California. My mother and I always go to the beach in Malibu to let off steam and soak in the sun. This year I booked a trip to Orlando, Florida for myself, my mum and Isabelle. She has no clue about it; she thinks she’s staying working in town to earn money for a holiday. I can’t wait to tell her she’s going on holiday with me to Disneyland of all places. That’s always been her dream destination; she loves aquatica which is a SeaWorld water park.
We drink our milkshakes at the groovy hut; she is busy devouring her milkshake to notice the men around her, looking at her cleavage. I really need to talk to her about it. It’s tiring fighting off guys or telling them off for looking at her. I despise the cocky ones who purposely make an excuse to talk to her and then end up flirting with her in front of me.
“Babe, you busy today?” I ask, hoping she’ll say no so I can tell her I’m taking her on her dream trip.
“I might be” she smirks.
“Getting cocky now are we? I like It” I wink.
She laughs before saying, “No, I’m not busy stupid. Why? What’d you have in mind?” she asks curiously
“Dinner and a movie?” I suggest.
“Sounds like a plan” she agrees.
“Pick you up at 6, I gotta run. Need to pick up my textbooks from the library” I say, pulling out my wallet to pay for the drinks.
“You’re such a geek” she mutters.
“That is why you love me” I remark.
She flushes. An awkward silence fills the restaurant. Fuck. I shouldn’t have said.
“Err…I’m going to go” I say, breaking the growing silence.
I leave $20 on the table and kiss her quick before disappearing to the library.
The revision books I needed weren’t in stock so I pre ordered them for when they come.
“Mum, where’s the little envelope with the hearts on it?” I ask, annoyed.
“Zac, check under the pillow” she yells from the inside the kitchen.
What the fuck? It’s there. I swear I just checked it and it wasn’t there. Its true, mothers have weird superpowers. I pick up the envelope, folded it and slid it into the back pocket of my jeans.
“I’m away to get Isabelle, love you mum” I kiss her quick on the cheek and leave.
“Take care!” she shouts as I disappear out the door.
I decide against taking the truck, it’s a beautiful day outside so walking is the best option. When I reach her door, I’m out of breath. She lives too far for my liking, maybe I should have bought the truck after all.
I hum along to the tune of her doorbell; it’s become a habit after the third time I came here. Her mother, Lexie opens the door.
“Izzy, it’s for you!” she shouts behind her.
“Good evening Mrs. Swan” I greet her.
“Please, for the hundredth time, call me Lexie” she blushes.
I nod and walk in, shutting the door behind her. She tells me to make myself at home and walks into the kitchen. I walk up the narrow steps and down the corridor to the small bedroom to the left. I knock once on Isabelle’s door, no answer. I push it slightly and it opens. I slowly peer inside and stop in my tracks, taking in the sight before me. Isabelle is trying hard to zip her long gown but can’t, she is annoyed at the fact she can’t reach it. She doesn’t notice me enter the room, or notice me standing behind her. The long red gown reaches below her feet, sweeping across the carpet as she walks forward a few steps. I reach forward and slowly push the zip up. She gasps as my fingers trail along her back, up her spine. The zip ends just under her neck, I gather her hair and move it to one side, leaving the other side of her neck bare, she walks backwards, moving her neck to the side to give me more access, I suck on the smooth skin. Kissing a trail from her neck to the back of her ear, I lightly suck on the soft spot behind her ear; she moans my name. My teeth graze her earlobe; I take it between my lips and suck gently. She turns to face me; her hands find their way into the back pocket of my jeans. I tangle my hands in her soft hair, she moans into my mouth. Her tongue in sync with mine, she tugs at my bottom lip. I suck on her tongue, taking time in tasting her. She suddenly pulls back, as do I. A confused look shows on my face.
In her right hand is the envelope. I make an attempt to grab it but she quickly puts it behind her back. I wrap my arms around her, trying to get it out her grip. I grab her wrist, careful not to hurt her and using a bit of force to bring it in front of her. My other hand unclenches her fingers and I take the envelope from her hands. She sticks her bottom lip out and widens her eyes. She wines when I shake my head.
“Stop with the puppy dog act, don’t touch my envelope” I warn her.
She narrows her eyes at me and storms past me; I can hear her heels clatter against the floor as she walks down the corridor, swaying that beautiful ass of hers that drives me crazy. I find her standing at the bottom of the stairs, her arms crossed across her chest, making her breasts look as though they’re going to pop out her dress. I gulp and take two steps towards her. She glares at me, she’s obviously pissed. When we leave the house she stands next to the pavement, her eyes on the floor.
“Where’s the truck” she grunts.
“We’re walking, the restaurant isn’t far from here” I smile.
“Which way?” she asks sternly.
I point to left; she begins to walk in that direction. I jog to catch up with her; the walk to the restaurant is silent.
