Chapter 2
I look into the mirror, my reflection staring back at me. It’s ugly, telling me that I’m not good enough…for her. I apply ointment onto my forehead covering my acne under a thick white layer of cream. I cringe, why would she ever go out with me? I’m nothing like the guy she usually dates. I see her with Jason and I want what he has…well had. He ruined his chances with her, the bastard. When I see him…he’s dead. My hands clench into fists and in a moment of madness I punch the mirror, I close my eyes, taking in the clatter of glass, falling on the floor. I open my eyes, and stare into the eyes of my distorted reflection. I walk away, getting ready for school. Tripping over my leather briefcase my glasses fall to the floor, the loud crack echoes through the room. Crap. Everything’s blurred; I can just make out black objects on the floor. Bending I pick up the remaining of my glasses and throw it across the room. I think about wearing contacts but they irritate my eyes so I decide against it. I resort to my last option, the new glasses my mum bought me. They’re so horrible. They have a red rim and are huge on my face. After waiting an hour revising for my exam to pass the time. I proceed to the bathroom to wash the cream off my face. I leave for school; I’m going to do it. I’m going to ask her out…it may be too soon but I can’t wait any longer. Ever since I met her yesterday, she has constantly been on my mind.
I glance back in German. She’s watching me, her gaze burning deep into my soul. I smile, and she flashes her straight which teeth back at me. She looks breathtaking, her hair is put up into a messy bun and she’s wearing minimum make up, making her look even more beautiful. The tone for lunch went; I walked her out of class and waited for her to pack her things. We decided to go to the chip shop not far from school, time flew by and we found ourselves missing first period after lunch. She smiled and laughed at my lame attempt to make a joke.
“You’re too sweet” she spoke.
“Sweet but not funny” I murmured
“I did laugh!” she explains.
“Yeah...at me but not with me” I frown.
“I’m sorry, when I asked what the date of May you were to say “the fourth of May” not…may the fourth be with you” she laughs.
I try my hardest to keep a straight face but fail abruptly; my stomach started to tighten and hurt after laughing so much. Its good to see her finally relax with me and not a trace of worry lingers on her beautiful face. I can’t help but stare at her.
“What?” she whispers looking up at me.
A small blush appears on her face and I quickly look away.
“Nothing” I say quietly.
I glance to the side and she’s still staring at me, her blue eyes glistening under the sun. Her gaze is uncomfortable so I continue walking towards the school. She follows behind me, with her eyes glued to the floor. She’s thinking, I could tell by the way her eyes scrunch up that she’s considering something seriously. I snap my finger in front of her face, bringing her out her daze.
“Oh, we’re here...” she looks at her surroundings.
“Are you okay?” I ask confused.
Her next words take me by surprise.
“Yeah, do you er…want to go out with me? To dinner or something?” she asks quietly, her eyes still on the floor.
“What?” I ask shocked.
