Mila is engrossed in a new book.
It is about the classic telling of a bad boy falling for a good girl.
Mila can't help but laugh at the cliche telling. Her story started out like that as well.
The bad goes after the good. The bad only goes after the good because the good can resist the bads charm, or at least the good things that. They keep flirting and fooling around for some time. Then the bad wants to confess its feelings.
And they live happily ever after.
"They don't know that the bad never let that bad side go. It will always be a part of that person." Mila thinks to be herself.
When she first met Peter, their story too was cliche. Mila just knew that they would never get the happily ever after ending, like the other stories; Peter never let go of the bad, and when it eventually shined through, Mila felt attracted to it. The good girl could finally be bad.
"Mila, are you here?" A familiar voice comes from behind the door.
Mila stands up from the comfortable couch and walks over to the door.
"Nick!?" She smiles. Mila hasn't seen Nick since the night their parents decided to get divorced.
That was 3, weeks ago.
Mila has been living in the Carlson resident for 2, weeks now, and since Nick has been spending his nights anywhere else than near Chelsea and Blake, he didn't know that Mila got kicked out.
Nick hugs his twin sister to his chest. He got so angry and worried when Chelsea said that she had kicked her out. Fortunately, Chelsea had seen Mila a couple of times walking down the street, therefore she had to stay with someone nearby.
"What the hell did you do to make her crack?" He asks when he lets her go.
Mila shrugs her shoulders, "I guess she just had enough." She starts. "She said something about not wanting to be apart of any more of my drama, and that I've cost her enough."
Nick looks at his sister in questioning, "What kind of drama have you created now?" He knows his sister better than anyone else, and the fact that she has created some drama conscious doesn't sound like her. She creates a lot of them without knowing, but she would never do it intentionally.
"She just kind of freaked out on Kyle when he came over. And when I got back, she had packed my stuff." Mila may sound like she doesn't care, but Nick can see right through her act.
"And you're okay with that?" He already knows the answer to his question, but he wants to see if she will lie to him.
"It's okay, I guess." She says and begins playing with her hair. "I mean, at first I was angry, and maybe a little sad," Mila confesses. "But Kyle and Tasha have been a big support."
Nick eyes her. Waiting to see if there is something she isn't telling him. "You didn't tell them, did you? About that night." He needs to get that clarified.
Mila looks behind her shoulder and shakes her head. "No, and I don't plan to. I don't want to burden them with my problems."
He nods his head in understanding while pulling her back into a hug. "How long until the trial?" Nick changes the subject, which surprises Mila. She thinks about the trial each day, going through all the things there could go wrong. She wants to stay positive, but she doesn't want to get her hopes up.
"One week," Is her answer.
"Do you want me to come?"
Mila gives him a questioning look. "Do the others not plan to come?" Mila thought it was evident that they would come.
Nick shrugs, "I don't know."
Mila folds her arms, suddenly feeling cold. "Oh, okay." She is a bit disappointed. But what could she expect? It is not like they are on speaking terms, and then again they probably still blame her for that night.

"You okay, honey? You have been awful quiet today." Tasha asks Mila as they sit at the dinner table.
Mila swirls her food around the plate. She doesn't have an appetite.
"Does it have anything to do with your brother visiting the other day?" Kyle contributes.
She puts the fork down while sending them her best fake smile. "Everything is okay. I just forgot to tell you that I'm leaving for a couple of days tomorrow."
Tasha and Kyle give her a concerned look. They want to ask further, but at the same time, they don't want to push her to talk about it.
Mila notices their looks but doesn't elaborate. "I appreciate how sweet both of you have been. It has been a long time since I have gotten this much kindness."
"You are always welcome here Mila." Tasha reaches out for Milas' hand and squeezes it. "Do you plan to come back here after your trip?"
Milas' face reddens, "If it's okay?"
Tasha's eyes light up, "Of course it is! You are always welcome here. It feels good to have another girl in the house." She looks over at Kyle, "Even though he sometimes acts like a girl, he doesn't want to talk about girl stuff with me."
Mila too looks over at Kyle, and can't help but laugh at his red cheeks.
"He even blushes like a girl." Tasha continues.
Kyle rolls his eyes, but his cheeks just got even redder.
Mila smiles, this time a real one. She can't help but feel at home here.
A home.
She hasn't felt at home since they moved from Florida.
Mila takes a deep breath. She can't wait for the trial to be over, then maybe she will be able to move on with her life.

"Phone call for Jeremy Horson!" The guard calls out to the convicts in the cafeteria.
Peter follows Jeremy with his eyes as he makes his way over to the phone. Jeremy has been getting phone calls for the last week, and it annoys the hell out of Peter, that he doesn't know who is calling him.
"Jeremy Horson," Jeremy says as he answers the phone.
"Cut the crap with all that formality, Jeremy. I'm coming to Peter's trial in a couple of days, and I expect to pay you a visit for more information. Therefore you better have something I can use, or else I'm afraid accidents happen. Even in jail."
Jeremy's face pales, and he begins rocking back and forth. Peter notices and he narrows his eyes at his dad.
He has never seen him afraid let alone nervous.
Who is the person on the other side?
