"You ready to go?" Tasha asks Mila as she steps into her room.
Mila gives her a sad smile and shakes her head, "Not really."
Tasha sits down beside Mila on the bed and pulls her into a sideways hug. "I don't know why you have to go to Florida, but I can see that it has taken its toll on you. You sure you don't want to talk about it?"
Mila looks into her eyes, and she can't help but notice the love there shines through them. "I would love to tell you all my secrets, Tasha, but I'm afraid you wouldn't look at me like that if you knew what I was a part of."
Tasha narrows her eyes at the young girl, "Why don't you let me decide that, okay?"

Kyle sees Mila and Tasha walk out of the guestroom with sad smiles on their faces.
Before they walk further, Tasha hugs Mila to her and whispers something in her ear. Kyle can't hear what his mom is saying, but he can see Mila nod her head to her words.
As they walk over to him, he catches Mila's eye. Her eyes are glazed over, yet they still shine with the same happiness they have since she moved in with them.
"I was thinking. Why don't you go with Mila, Kyle? Mila isn't that fond of driving, and you have always talked about how you would like to see Florida." Tasha offers.
Mila gives Kyle a beaming smile, while he scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. It is not like he doesn't want to spend some time with Mila - he would love that - but he is afraid. Kyle has never been the outgoing one. He has always been a bit closed of.
"You don't have to if you don't want to," Mila says, as she senses his nervousness.
Kyle composes himself and shakes his head, "I would love to come with you Mila." he gives him one of his infamous breathtaking smiles, "If you wait a sec, I will go pack some stuff real quick."
Mila smiles and nods her head.
Tasha nudges Mila's shoulder, "See I told you he would agree."
"Yeah, I simply don't know if I will be able to tell him," Mila confesses. "What if he doesn't take it as well as you do?"
"Trust me he will. Plus it will be good for you to tell someone, instead of keeping it inside of that pretty head of yours."
Mila gives her a questioning, "I just told you?"
"I know you didn't tell me the whole story. I can see it in your eyes."
Mila crosses her arms across her chest, not knowing what to say. She has only known this woman for barely a month, but still, she already knows her better than Chelsea does.
She only told Tasha, her ex-boyfriend was in jail for murder, and Mila had to testify against him.
She didn't tell her what happened that night.
Tasha takes hold of Mila's shoulders and looks her deep into her eyes. "My son will understand. He is a good boy. And I'm sure you're a good girl too. You have to let this secret out, embrace it. It is a part of who you are. Don't be ashamed of what it has done to you."
Mila wipes the small tear away which has fallen. She takes Tasha's words to her and will treasure them deeply. She could see the sincerity in her eyes when she spoke them. Tasha may not know what happened that night, but she means those words.
She even made Mila believe them herself.
She has to talk about it. To someone who doesn't have any personal feelings about that night.
And Kyle isn't personally involved, plus he is so sweet and caring and probably wouldn't hurt a fly. It makes him the perfect candidate.
Mila truly believes that he will understand and that he will be there to comfort her.
"Okay." She answers Tasha.
Kyle runs down the stairs with a gym bag thrown over his shoulder. "Ready?"
Mila nods, "Ready."

"Have you ever been on a plane before?" Mila asks Kyle as they take place in their seats.
Kyle nervously buckles his seatbelt, "No."
Mila follows his movement. "Afraid?
Kyle looks straight ahead and takes a deep breath. "Maybe a little."
"Don't worry. Studies say that it's more likely to crash in a car, than crash on a plane."
Mila thinks her words will soothe him, but they only make him more nervous. "If you try to ease my worries, you're not exactly helping."
"Sorry. I thought it would help."
The safety instructions come on, and cuts of their conversation. Kyle is very ingrossed and checks that everything is where the safety woman says it is.
The plane starts to take off and Kyle is about to rip off the armest with his fingers. Mila softly places her small hand over his larger one and gives it a light squeeze.
Kyle looks at their hands, and he quickly closes his hand around hers
The trip doesn't scare him anymore.
No.
The problem is the beautiful girl sitting beside him, holding his hand.
He has no idea on how to tell her how he feels. Because what if she doesn't feel the same? Kyle doesn't want to ruin their friendship.
But he has to tell her.
A beautiful girl like her could be gone before he knew it.
He has to take a chance.
For once in his life.
"Mila?" The word comes out as a small whisper, but Mila hears.
She looks at Kyle. "Yeah?"
He takes a deep breath. "I, really, like you. As more as a friend."
"You have got to be kidding me."
Kyle is shocked by her words, though he quickly discovers that her attention isn't on him, but on something behind him.
Her eyes have zoned in on the couple sitting on the other side.
She removes her seatbelt and walks over to the bathroom in the back.
Kyle turns around, and he suddenly understands her outburst.
Chelsea is sitting there with her new boyfriend, Blake.
He remembers Mila talking about her mom's new relationship, the day after she spent her first night there. Tasha was okay with Mila staying at their house, but she had to know why she got kicked out.
Chelsea kiss Blake before she stands up, and walks in the same direction Mila went in.
Mila walks out of the bathroom the minute Chelsea comes.
The mom and daughter look into each other's eyes.
Waiting.
Neither of them makes a move to walk away.
"Mila." Chelsea addresses her daughter.
"Mom."
