Mila looks out of the car window. She has been awful quiet since she met Chelsea on the plane. Kyle didn't dare to ask her how the exchange had gone. Plus he didn't have to. He knew how it went.

He could see from his position in the plane that they were talking in hushed tones, and when Mila came back, she looked angry, maybe a little sad.

The latter one she didn't want to admit.

Kyle hasn't heard why Mila got kicked out by her mom, but he thinks it has more to do than Chelsea cheating. Of course, Mila is sad that her mom could do such a thing, but there has to be more to the story - more than Kyle knows.

Mila can feel Kyle's eyes on her from time to time during the ride. She just can't look at him right now. She doesn't know why, but she feels a little bit embarrassed. She has been acting like a spoiled child who hasn't got what it wanted. During her talk with Chelsea, she had gotten more and more frustrated.

Her mom knew which buttons to push to make her snap.

"I'm sorry," Mila says to Kyle.

Kyle quickly looks away from the road and on to Mila, before looking back. "Why? You have nothing to say sorry about."

Mila shakes her head at his kindness, "I'm sorry, I brought you along to my family drama." She frowns as the words leave her mouth. A few weeks ago she told herself that she wouldn't bring Kyle into her mess. And what is she doing now?

"I think I can handle it. Like I told you before I've experienced some share of it myself."

Mila turns her head towards him, and a smile forms itself on her lips. "I know many say this often, but I don't think you have experienced the things my family have been through."

Kyle raises an eyebrow in question, but he doesn't say anything.

After a few moments of silence, Mila speaks up again.

"My mom thinks I'm a disappointment." She starts out. Kyle listens intensely, wanting to hear her finally opening up to him. "She said to me that she wished I had been a better child. One who wouldn't have brought so much sadness into her perfect life." An emotionless laugh escapes her lips. "She wanted me to be like her; 'A real lady' she used to say to me. When I was little, I wanted nothing more than for her to accept me. I guess I never lived up to her standards."

"When I was in my early teenage years I finally accepted that I would never be the person she expected me to be. I started going down a grim road..." Mila stops her rambling. She doesn't want to pour it all out on Kyle right now. Even though she didn't want to pull him into her drama, she wants to follow Tasha's advice. But not here. She wants to do it the right place.

Kyle can see her hesitation, and he doesn't push it. He is curious though, but he knows she will tell him eventually if she feels like it.

He turns on the radio to ease the tension radiating in the air inside of the car.

"And now on to the 8 o'clock news. Tomorrow evening at 2 in the afternoon the trial of Peter Horson starts. He was transported from California to here one month ago. The media still hasn't got any information about the murder, other than it is an old unclosed case from 2 years back." The radio host announces before Mila turns over to another canal.

"I heard about this story back home. Jeremy and Peter Horson. I will never understand people like them." Kyle comments. "I mean, who can get themselves to kill innocent people? Let alone a whole police station filled with experienced people."

"He was a cop himself."

Kyle looks at Mila from the corner of his eyes to see her looking out from the window. Lost in thoughts.

"A dirty one of course." She elaborates. "He abused his power. Always breaking the law, along with his son. Peter started out to be a good boy. Although, after his mom left he changed. He turned out to be just like his dad; evil and always using his force to get what he wanted."

"How do you know all this?" Kyle asks her, yet he already has an idea.

Mila thinks her next words through carefully. "We went to the same High School."

Kyle waits for her to elaborate, but she never does.

Sensing his confusion she says, "This is not the right place."

"What do you mean?"

Mila looks down at the GPS. "It means that I want you to turn right instead of left in the next swing."

"I want you to meet someone."

Kyle looks out of the car window. He doesn't understand why she took him here of all places. She thinks this is the right place to talk? He thinks to himself.

He turns around but is met, with an empty seat. Mila is already out if the car.

Mila has unfortunately never been here herself. She never had the courage. Nick has been here a lot of times, along with his yearly visit. Chelsea and Robert came here once but never returned. Too many memories contained in just one place.

A life.

She has never been here, yet she knows where she needs to go.

Kyle is right on her tail. He doesn't want her to be out here on her own at this time.

Feeling the sudden need to be near her again, after such a long time, Mila practically runs towards the place.

She stops abruptly in front of her wanted destination. Kyle, almost, crashes into her from the sudden halt.

She crumples down to the ground in defeat. That is when the sobs start.

Kyle quickly comes down to her level and pulls her into his chest, while running his hand up and down on her back in a soothing matter.

As Mila finally gets control over her sob, Kyle softly whispers to her, "Do you want to tell me about her?"

Mila nods softly and begins to smile through her tears, "She was always there for me when I needed her. She always brought a smile to my face when I was down." She looks up at him, "Just like you always do."

Kyle smiles down at her while he removes a tear from her cheek. "She didn't deserve to die like that. She was like a mother to me, and Nick. That's why it hurts so much. " The tears start to fall again.

He doesn't know what to say, so Kyle keeps running his hand up and down her back - trying to soothe her.

"And what makes it even worse is that I'm the reason she isn't with us anymore."

Kyle abruptly stops his hand and looks down at the girl in his arms with a puzzled look, "What makes you say that?"

"I need to tell you something."
