Nightmare Quest (Book 3)

I wake up in a tent. I slowly sit up and look around. I don't remember anything; I feel like my brain is made of jello, I can't form any real thoughts because my brain is a mound of goo.

"Good, you're awake!"

I slowly turn towards the voice and I see Briggan sitting beside me. I stare at the ground for a while and attempt to get some thoughts together. Finally after what seems like forever I catch a brief glimpse of a memory before I blacked out. I look at Briggan with a grave expression on my face "It happened again didn't it?"

He looked down at the floor "Yes. You conjured illusions that could actually hurt us and then you attacked us yourself. The whole time your eyes were glowing this eerie red color and you didn't sound like yourself. The only reason you stopped was because you just suddenly passed out." Briggan pauses and continues "I didn't even know that you could conjure illusions; I can do it, but I've never seen illusions like those...so dark and full of hatred..."

"The stone's pull is getting stronger...it must be unlocking powers I never even knew that I had..." I said darkly.

"We WILL get to the bottom of this ok?" Briggan says determinedly.

I nod even though deep down I feel a growing sense of hopelessness.

About that time Essix peeks her head into the tent "Briggan I-" she stops when she sees me and smiles "Yeah Azula's awake! You don't mind if we come in and see ya do you?" Essix sees the confusion on my face and quickly adds "By "we" I mean me, Tiny, and Star."

"Oh yeah, sure come on in." I say.

Everyone comes in and Tiny runs over and gives me a hug. I can't help but smile. No matter the situation they can always make me smile.

Essix comes over and gives me a hug "I'm glad to see that you're back to being yourself. I like this you a lot better than terminator you."

Star smirks "Yeah I think you only need to be the killer when Erde makes you mad."

I look down. Despite all their attempts to make me feel better I still have that guilty feeling gnawing in the back of my mind. "I'm sorry I put you through this guys. I don't know what I would do if I hurt one of you...maybe it would be best if I went to see Madam Silverclaw alone."

"You're talking crazy!" Star exclaims.

"I don't care how dangerous you think you are, I'm still coming with you. I'm your best friend you can't shake me off that easily." Essix says while putting her hands on her hips.

"You know I'm coming too. You're my sister, we promised to always stick together, and I plan to hold up that promise." Briggan says.

I get up from where I had been laying while I had been unconscious. "I think I'm going to stretch my legs and clear my head a little."

"Do you want me to come with you?" Essix asks.

"No, I need some time to myself." I say while walking out of the tent.

So sorry I've been inactive for a while, when you're a senior in high school the month of May is very busy for me. I'll try to update as much as I can.
