As I plummet downwards I can feel the dark energy. It makes all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and it's getting harder and harder to keep myself from slipping into its embrace.
I start to see a dim light below me, so I open my wings to slow my descent. The further I drift towards the light the more powerful the dark energy becomes.
Finally when I land on the hard gray ground below me I notice that I had found what I was looking for. I never thought the Nightmare crystal would be so big, but it towered over me and made me look like a toy. It even looked sinister since it was mostly black except that here and there it glowed a deep purple.
The Nightmare crystal was in a pit at the very bottom of the Nightmare Dimension from what I can tell. This must be the source of the Nightmare Dimension's power.
I cautiously walk towards the Nightmare crystal. I'm surprised that I've kept it together this long. I don't get within 2 steps of it when I notice something is happening. I quickly jump backwards just as a pillar of dark light shoots up from the ground.
After it goes away I notice a shadowy figure standing in front of the statue. At first I think it's Madam Silverclaw but after looking more closely the figure is too small to be her. It takes a couple of steps towards me and that's when I notice who it is.
I freeze. "Thorn? I-it can't be!"
He doesn't respond. All he does is look at me blankly and draw a dagger out of thin air.
"Thorn I don't wanna fight you!"
Thorn doesn't respond again. He just lunges toward me with his dagger.
Instantly I'm drawn back to the day he died all over again. I can feel my self losing focus and the dark energy taking over a lot faster. Before I know it Thorn is right there at me and is slashing right at my throat.
My wounds are starting to get to me. I manage to deflect his attack but it grazes my shoulder instead. I grit my teeth as I feel the blood welling up from the gash. I'm barely able to stand on my feet, how am I going to defeat Thorn again?
"Azula this has gotta be another illusion created by your worst nightmare!" Essix shouts down at me.
"How can you even see me?" I shout back.
"How isn't important! Just focus and destroy that crystal!" She pauses "Oh crap...hold on gotta go! Stay down you psycho!"
I turn my attention back to Thorn. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. When I open them Thorn's form is gone; in his place is a black shadowy demon looking thing with long sharp teeth and sharp claws.
It lets out this awful sounding screech and charges towards me. I swing my sword downward as soon as it gets close and I cut it directly in half. It splits and evaporates into black mist.
I gotta act fast now because it's getting even harder for me to keep the dark energy back. I know there's only one way for me to shatter that crystal. I gotta use the dark power inside me to do it. I've always been able to control a little bit of dark powers but I hate using them because it feels so wrong; however, in this situation I have no choice but to use it. The consequences could mean I turn into that dark soldier thing Madam Silverclaw was talking about but it's just a risk I have to take.
I draw my sword and concentrate. I can feel all of my dark energy flowing into my sword. I open my eyes and run full force towards the Nightmare crystal; then I throw my sword with all the power I can muster.
I watch as my sword smashes into the surface of the Nightmare crystal and pierces through it. A giant crack forms in it and dark energy starts seeping out of it from every little branching crack that appears on its surface. The dark presence invading my mind disappears leaving me exhausted.
