Nightmare Quest (Book 3)

Believe it or not, the next morning I'm actually the first one up. I look over at Erde sleeping on the blanket beside me. He always looks like he's having the best sleep in the whole world, a very peaceful sleeper. I get up and do a gigantic pterodactyl stretch and in the process I almost fall over; that's how you know it's a good stretch.

I walk over to the basket beside the tent and dig around until I fish out a big juicy palm fruit. These apple look alikes are bigger and tastier than their apple cousins; when I lived in Sandtown me and Briggan ate these all the time. I bite into the palm fruit and the tangy taste fills my mouth and the fruit juice drips all over everywhere.

The tent flap lifts up and Essix and Star come out. I wipe the fruit juice off of my face and greet them with a wave. "Mornin' guys."

Essix smiles and returns my wave "Mornin' Azula."

"So you slept outside last night huh?" Star asks.

"Yeah, me and Erde slept over there." I reply while pointing to where Erde is still sleeping.

Star smirks "Oh so you two slept together?"

"What? No!" I exclaim.

Essix smacks Star in the head "Quit being nasty you weirdo!"

Star pouts and rubs the back of her head. "Don't tell me you weren't thinking that..." She mumbles.

Thankfully Briggan, Razor, and Maximo came out of the tent so we could forget that question ever existed.

"So what's the agenda for today amigos?" Maximo asks.

"I guess we'll continue heading towards Madam Silverclaw's place." I reply.

"Remember before we head out we need to wait for Iris and Blaze to get here." Razor says.

"Why are they coming?" Everyone looks at me funny. "Not trying to be rude but I'm curious."

"You're going to need all of the Elementals to seal Madam Silverclaw in the Nightmare Dimension." Maximo states.

"Clearly I've missed something here; why are we sealing her in the Nightmare Dimension?" I ask slightly confused.

"She draws her power from there, and if she draws her power from there, then we can seal her there." Briggan replies.

"I guess that makes sense." I say.

"Of course it does, no one can resist how hot I am."

We all turn and see Blaze landing on the sand with Iris in her arms; when she touches down her orange wings turn back into a cape. She sweeps some fur out of her eyes and sassily props a hand on one hip.

"Yeah the gang's back together!" Iris says happily.

"With all of us there's no way we'll fail!" Tiny says excitedly.

"When did you wake up?" Essix asks.

"A minute ago." He then talks a little quieter "Long enough to see the new oasis in this desert appear." He smirks.

Star laughs "Nice try kid, but she's way outta your league."

Tiny huffs angrily "I can try." He then looks at Iris and smiles "Especially for her."

I'm back!!

Sorry for the delay again guys! The past few weeks have been really busy for me. After I graduate from high school this Thursday I should have more free time during the summer to update more.
