Nightmare Quest (Book 3)

We all climb through the hole made by Madam Silverclaw and we find ourselves in her lab. This place also brings back terrible memories, yay. I can see the trail of smashed lab tables and broken test tubes, but I don't see Madam Silverclaw. Instantly I become more alert. She's dangerous when you can see her, even more dangerous when you can't.

Blaze looks around and places her hands on her hips "It looks like she's not here."

Essix notices how wary I am and scans the room. "No she's here, she's gotta be."

Suddenly I remember that I did a training exercise like this with Madam Silverclaw one time. I look up at the ceiling and talk quietly to myself "She hid on the ceiling and then she attacked..."

There's a flash of movement and then I see Madam Silverclaw jump from her hiding place. She's heading straight for Tiny! Before anyone else can react I lunge towards Tiny. I push him away and draw my scope sword to block Madam Silverclaw's aerial attack. She slams her claws into my sword with so much force I have to tighten my grip on the hilt to make sure I didn't lose my sword.

Madam Silverclaw hisses and jumps back. "You are extremely perceptive. It annoys me."

I shrug casually "Hey I mean you're the one who taught me so..."

Madam Silverclaw narrows her eyes, but she stays silent. I see her draw her hands into tight fists and then she jumps towards me.

I quickly drop onto my back. As I expected, Madam Silverclaw goes to attack me since she thinks I'm exposed. At the last second I kick upwards with all my strength. She sails backwards into the wall with a loud crash and gets buried in rubble as the wall partially collapses on top of her.

I turn towards Erde "You guys go get the portal ready we'll buy you some time!"

Erde nods and gathers the other Elementals.

I quickly turn around and I see Madam Silverclaw almost 2 feet away from me with her claws outstretched. Crap I wasn't expecting her to recover so fast. I freeze and time seems to slow down; she inches closer every second.

"Not on my watch Silverclaw!" Essix yells. She smacks into Madam Silverclaw with a flying body slam. The impact knocks Madam Silverclaw away and Essix turns her head to look at me "You alright?"

I shake my head slightly and look at her "Yeah I'm fine, just froze up a little is all."

We hear a furious hiss from Madam Silverclaw. Essix and I quickly turn towards her and see Tiny toying with her. She swipes at him, but Tiny darts underneath her legs and scratches her legs with his claws.

"Irritating little pest die!!" The tip of Madam Silverclaw's claws start glowing purple.

Tiny panics and starts running towards us.

Essix and I sprint to Tiny. He runs by us and Essix lunges for Madam Silverclaw and prepares a punch. Madam Silverclaw grabs Essix's arm and flings her across the room. I lunge towards her and she jumps above me and slams me into the ground.

"Alright no more games!" Madam Silverclaw hisses. She pins me to the ground, and she takes her claws and plunges them into my shoulder.

I cry out with pain as she sinks them in deeper. It felt like my arm was beginning to melt away. I forgot that Madam Silverclaw has an ability where she can literally tear your cells apart. I've seen what she can do, but I never imagined that it would be this painful. Now I'm going to end up like the rest of her victims. A corpse with all its veins black as coal and black scorch like markings all over its body, that's been slowly killed from the inside out. I gotta do something and fast.

I squirm underneath Madam Silverclaw and try to get away. I attempt to kick her with my legs but I can already feel my strength failing.

Madam Silverclaw smiles "Goodbye dear."

Heeey!!

Ok so I wanna apologize for not updating in like FOREVER. I've been sidetracked with college stuff and my mom nagging me about finding a job, plus some other fun post high school things (yay). Then I was going to update a few days ago but hurricane Michael decided to come over where I live so my power has been knocked out for 3 days...it's just been a big mess. I finally got power back in my house a couple of hours ago though, so I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!
