"appa?" i turned to him pulling my arms off of taehyungs neck and putting them awkwardly by my sides.

appa didn't respond. he just looked at us with a saddened expression. i looked over to tae giving him an "i-need-to-talk-to-him" look. he nodded to me signaling that it was okay.

as my dad began to go back downstairs, i stepped in front of him before he could go any further.

"look im sorry you had to see that. i didn't think anyone came up here." i said "it's really not that big of a deal-"

he cut me off before i could finish. "to me it's a big deal. you know how i feel about you dating. and if im completely honest, i think that boyfriend of yours is a bad influence. he's probably just using you only to break your heart and i worry about that"

"oh wow so now you think im not worthy of him? you think that he's too out of my league? you know what... yeot meogeo." i said as tears began to fill my eyes, instantly regretting everything i just said.

i quickly opened the door to go back downstairs, and climbed down the ladder as fast as i could with my trembling hands.

"ae wait im sorry-" appa tried to apologize but i ignored him and pretended i couldn't hear.

~ taehyungs pov ~

aes dad turned around with a tear slipping from his eye. he looked like he needed some comforting, but i also knew i had to check on ae.

"it's okay. you can go son." he said forcing a smile

i nodded and made my way down the ladder.
i may not have known ae for long, but what i did know is that her favorite place was the garden because it made her feel at peace when she was in a difficult situation.

i ran down the halls trying to remember where it was. as i passed the cafeteria, i felt someone grab onto my wrist causing me to turn around towards them.

"i just saw ae sobbing down the halls. what is happening? did you do this to her?" mee asked.

my heart broke knowing that she was crying. this was all my fault. if i hadn't come over the other day, if i hadn't suggested being fake boyfriend and girlfriend, if i hadn't moved here in the first place none of this would have happened.

i continued on running, leaving mee without an answer.

"hey i've known her for longer! i should know what's happening!" she shouted at me.

i finally found the garden and opened the door. the fresh scent of flowers filled the area. i looked over to a bench where ae was sitting with her face in her palms.

i walked over to sit by her and put my arm around her shoulder.

"hey babe im sorry. it's going to be okay i promise" i told her

she picked up her head from her hands and clutched my shirt as she put her head on my chest.

"why am i even this upset? we're not even really dating" she sobbed

my heart plummeted remembering that this was all just an act. but it felt so real. or at least i wished it was.

i took her hands off of my shirt and held them in mine.

"ae i hope you know that i'll be anything for you. anytime you want. im always here for you." i said making her blush slightly

"thank you" she said as she looked up at me and leaned in for a kiss.
