The two boys arrived at the diner. Dean had driven around this area but had never seen this diner. It's a 50's style diner, they even have an actual working jukebox in the back that is currently playing "Hound Dog" by Elvis.

"How have I never noticed that this was here? I must've driven past it a bunch of times." Said Dean as Castiel led them to a booth in the back of the diner.

"Not many people actually know about it. That's why I like it, it's usually quiet in here and they make the best burgers I've ever had."  Castiel slides into the booth and Dean sits across from him. A blonde waitress walks up to them to take their order.

"Cassie! The usual I'm guessing?" She then notices Dean. "Dean? How's it going? I see you finally made a new friend." She says with a slight smirk as she looks between the two boys. "He's my cousin." She says in response to the slight head tilt and confused expression on Castiel's face.

"Wait really? Well then, Dean you should've already been here. Shame on you." Castiel jokes. "Yeah Jo, I'll take my usual please and Dean will have... what do you want Dean?"

Dean quickly replies "I'll have the same thing thanks."

"Okay two burgers coming up." Jo walks back towards the kitchen to place the order.

"So, how do you know Jo?"  Dean asks the slightly smaller blue-eyed boy sitting in front of him. Dean feels like he could just stare into Cas' eyes forever. He's had attractions towards men before but never really acted on them, he's also never felt this strong of one.

"We're friends. We met last year in science, we hang out sometimes but not all that often."  Castiel responds, not noticing Dean watching him as he fiddles with the salt shaker.

"Did she come up to you and start talking? And then punch you in the arm or something?" Dean asks. Castiel nods, looking a little surprised and confused about how Dean knew that.

"She does that. Jo likes to make new friends by making people think that she is nice and harmless and then making them scared when they see how she really is. She may look small but she could kick my ass."

"Damn right I could!" Dean heard from across the diner. He looked at Cas and they both laughed. Dean liked when Cas laughed, it made him- he's not even sure what he's feeling right now but he likes it. He's never really been attracted to men before but wouldn't be against it if he was... and Dean is starting to think he might be.

Dean and Cas continue talking about whatever comes up until Jo shows up with their burgers. Any time their hands touched when reaching for a napkin or their legs brushed against each other while cramped in the small booth, they both felt a pleasant tingling feeling that they both tried to ignore. Jo came over and put the burgers down, then quickly walks away to take care of some other customers that just walked in. The boys eat their food and Dean comments on how amazing the burgers are. When they're finished they leave money on the table and head out.

"Hey Jo! Tell Aunt Ellen I said hey, will you?" Dean called over his shoulder as he and Cas walked back towards Cas' car.

"Where do you live? I'll drive you home." Cas asks as they get into the car. Dean gives Cas the address. "Oh really? That's like a 5 minute walk from my house." Cas tells Dean as he pulls out of the diner parking lot.

"Well then I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of each other won't we? Hey you never gave me your number. How am I supposed to annoy you at three in the morning with random stupid texts about chicks or ghosts or some shit like real friends do?" Dean says to Cas as they enter their neighbourhood. Cas laughs and tells Dean his number.

"Although if your gonna text me about girls, don't. I'm not gonna be of much help." Cas laughs as they pull up in front of Dean's house and Cas turns the car off.

"Might I ask why you don't want me to text you about hot chicks?" Dean says, in a way that comes across as jokingly suggestive, with a slight smirk growing in his face. Castiel isn't shy about his sexuality but it usually doesn't come up this fast and he's actually nervous about what Dean is gonna say.

"Well... um- I, uh..." Dean notices the sudden change in Cas. He's more... shy?
"I'm not into girls Dean." Castiel nervously waits for Dean to respond. He doesn't typically go out of his way to make new friends but he was actually starting to really like Dean. Both as a friend and as something a little more... but Castiel is gonna stick with friend for now.

"So you're...?" Dean says with an amused look on his face. When Castiel said he didn't like girls, Dean was surprised at the feeling of relief and excitement that washed over him. He quickly put together a plan in his mind.

"Yes Dean, I'm gay. Everyone already knows so it's not really that big of a deal you knowing about it." Castiel starts to freak out a little bit. "I'm hoping that you aren't homophobic but if you are I'd just like to say-"

"Castiel Novak, would you like to go on a date with me?"
