The Winchesters and Novaks did not need to ask where the boys were when they arrived at the hospital.

Castiel's screams could be heard echoing through the hallways.

"JUST LET ME SEE HIM!" Castiel's sobbed as he tried to take the nurses restraining him down with the cast on his arm.

Gabriel and Michael ran to Castiel and pulled him off the nurses so they could go back to helping Dean. They managed to get him back to the waiting room where they tried to get the story of what happened out of him.

"Castiel, I need you to tell me what happened." Chuck said kindly but with underlying urgency.

"It's all my fault." Castiel cried.

"No it isn't Castiel you can't have possibly-" Chuck started.

"Yes it is! It was my idea to go to the stupid diner in the first place! And the. I was too busy being upset that I didn't notice- and now he's gonna die! They're both dying and it's all my fault!" Castiel sobbed hysterically.

Chuck reached for his son and pulled him closer. Castiel clutched onto his father as he cried for his brother and for Dean.

"Look at me." Chuck demanded. "There is no way you could've know that the diner you go to way too much, would've exploded. This is not your fault Castiel and they are not going to die."

Castiel calmed down enough to form proper sentences.

"Thanks dad."

"Is anyone here for Lucifer Novak?" A doctor had come into the waiting room a couple hours later to look for Lucifer's family. Immediately the five of them jumped up and went over to the doctor. Chuck was the first to talk, everyone else knew to stay quiet.

"How is he?"

"He sustained a heavy blow to the head which resulted in a minor brain bleed. There were also pieces of glass and concrete lodged in his abdomen that caused lacerations but the surgery went perfectly and he should make a full recovery barring any post-op complications."

Gabriel, Balthazar and Michael all let out exclamations of relief while the doctor explained to Chuck that since he did have brain surgery, they do have to wait for him to wake up before they can be certain that there are no mental deficits.

"What about Dean Winchester? Is he okay?" Sam interjected with a red eyed Castiel listening closely.

"Dean appears to be suffering from some sort of concussion but we have not been able to make a solid diagnosis. It appears that he was unaware of any injuries until he was seconds from collapsing at which point there was nothing he could do t-

"NO!" Castiel clutched onto Michael who was behind him.

"No! No he is not dead! I apologise I did not intend to make you think he was. There was nothing he could do to stop himself collapsing. There is no reason we can find for why he collapsed other than blunt force trauma so we suspect it was a concussion. There was no bleeding or swelling of the brain and he should wake up soon with nothing but a minor sensitivity to light and a headache."

Castiel had stopped crying and was standing a little straighter, the relief washing over him.

"Would you like us to move Dean into a shared room with Lucifer? They are in rooms next to each other anyway and I thought you might prefer that to them sharing rooms with strangers." Dr. Sheppard interjected.
