MaddyMoo- happy now?
"So are you finally going to tell me where we're going?" Castiel asked when he stopped laughing. The boys had been driving for about twenty minutes now and had been talking and laughing the whole time.
"Fine." Dean conceded. "We're going to the drive-in. They're playing Donnie Darko and Dirty Dancing. Sammy told my it was a Swayze thing but he doesn't have that big a role in Donnie Darko. I thought it would make a good first date." Dean said with a hint of nervousness in his voice. He really hoped Cas didn't hate the idea.
"I've never seen Donnie Darko. Also I've never actually been to a drive-in." Castiel smiled at the surprised look on Dean's face.
"Donnie Darko, understandable, but you've never been to a drive-in? Man am I glad I decided to take you."
"Yes now I can experience the 60's culture I've always wanted." Castiel joked as they pulled up to the ticket booth and Dean payed for the tickets. As they drive over to the right screen and found a parking spot somewhere in the middle, Dean told Cas what Donnie Darko was about.
"Do you wanna go get some popcorn or something?" Dean asked Cas as he parked the car and tuned into the correct radio station so they would be able to hear the movies.
"Sure." Castiel responded. They both got out of the car and started walking towards the small building where the concessions stand was. While they were walking, Castiel had a bout of confidence and took Dean's hand and laced their fingers together. When they got to the counter they ordered two burgers, two drinks and a large bag of popcorn. They both went to reach for their wallets but Dean stopped Cas before he was able to take his out of his pocket.
"I asked you out, this is my treat." Dean smirked at Castiel as he handed the money to the cashier, causing Castiel to blush. They grabbed their food and made their way back to the car. They sat down, ate their burgers and continued to laugh and talk until the movie started.
"What the fuck is that supposed to be?" Castiel asked Dean when the demented bunny rabbit showed up on the screen and Dean laughed at the look of pure confusion that appeared on Cas' face.
"That's Frank. He- never mind, you'll find out closer to the end." Dean said as he subtly moved closer to Cas. Castiel reached for the popcorn and Dean, deciding he was going to be as cliché as possible, decided to reach for it at the same time so that their hands would touch but he could play it off as accidental if Cas thought Dean was being an idiot. Castiel noticed what Dean was trying to do and instead of taking a couple pieces of popcorn, he picked up the bag, put it on his lap and moved a little closer to Dean while he smirked to himself, still looking up at the screen.
"Fine. Two can play at that game." Dean said as he moved so he was right next to Castiel and put his arm around him. This is what Cas was hoping Dean would do. Castiel had never been this attracted to someone before. Of course he had met other people that he thought were attractive but with Dean, all he wanted was for him to be closer even though they had only met yesterday. Castiel's thoughts were not entirely focused on the movie, but instead on the green-eyed boy that just rested his head on Cas'.Dean also had something on his mind. He pulled Cas closer to him and Cas rested his head on Dean's shoulder. Ever since they had met the day before, Dean had not been able to stop thinking about Cas. They way his eyes sparkle and his nose scrunched up when he laughs. The deep blue colour of his eyes that Dean feels he could get lost staring into. His full pink lips and what they would feel like against his own. Before he knew it the movie was over and Cas was asking a bunch of questions about that happened.
"But how did the turbine fall into the house 28 days before the plane was in the air? How was Donnie back in his house when the turbine fell? How did-"
"It's a bunch of alternate universe shit. To be honest I don't really get it either." Dean laughed as Castiel continued to express his confusion with the movie. Cas then got up to go refill his and Dean's drinks. While Dean waited for Cas to come back he tried to pull himself together. He doesn't remember watching most of the movie because he was so lost in his thoughts of Castiel.
Dirty Dancing was just about to start as Cas got back in the car."Just in time for the chick flick." Dean joked as he pulled Castiel back towards him so they were sitting with Dean's arm back around Cas' and Cas' head back on Dean's shoulder. The boys sat there in comfortable silence and watched the movie. About halfway through the movie, Dean noticed that Cas had fallen asleep, which is understandable since it was one in the morning. He didn't want to wake him, he looked so peaceful. He lightly stroked Cas' hair and Cas had turned towards Dean and put his arm across Dean's stomach to pull him closer as he slept. When the movie was done he waited a bit before he kissed the top of Castiel's head and whispered "Cas" to wake him up. Dean would've happily just sat there with him the whole night but people were starting to get impatient since they couldn't leave unless Dean moved his car. Castiel slowly opened his eyes and got up from where he was cuddled next to Dean.
"I'm so sorry Dean, I didn't realise how tired I was." Castiel said, embarrassed that he had fallen asleep on Dean during their first date.
"Don't worry about it. You look cute when your sleeping." Dean replied as he looked into Cas' eyes.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" Castiel said as they leaned closer to each other.
"Because I didn't want to." Dean whispered before he started to move even closer to Cas, desperate for their lips to meet. At this point some dick wanting to get out of the parking lot honked his horn which made Cas jump back, causing Dean to think of different ways to murder that person as he started up the car and left the drive-in.
The boys didn't talk as much as they had on the way there but that was mostly because they were both tired. Soon enough Dean pulled up in front of Castiel's house and stopped the car. Castiel turned to look at Dean.
"I honestly had a really great time tonight Dean. Thank you." Castiel said quietly as his eyes wandered down to Dean's lips and then back up to his eyes. The two boys slowly leaned towards each other.
"So did I Cas. We should do this again." Dean whispered right before he closed the space between them with no interruptions this time. Cas' eyes fluttered closed as he felt Dean's soft lips on his. Dean felt a warm feeling in his chest as he moved his hands to Castiel's hair and Castiel moved closer. They were like that for a few moments before Cas pulled away and rested his forehead on Dean's.
"I should probably go inside." Castiel says breathlessly as he pulls away from Dean. Cas was then very confused and slightly worried when Dean suddenly got out of the car. He was very relieved when he saw Dean open his door for him to get out of the car. They were both smiling as Dean walked Cas to his door.
"Goodnight Dean."
Dean pulled Cas close to him and whispered "Goodnight Cas." Into his ear before kissing him and walking back to his car.Castiel opened the door and went inside while Dean started the car and started down the street to his house. Castiel immediately went up to his room and flopped onto his bed, unable to stop smiling. He fell asleep wondering if tomorrow he would see Dean again.
