Finally, she got through the keyhole.

"YES!" She yelled before growing to full size and knocking over a vase, which she barely caught.

Hank and Hope were sitting there, finishing up their meal. Hope seemed shocked, while Hank had a grin on his face. Hope gave him a glare. Hank shrugged and jokingly told her, "She went faster than you."

Slowly, Hope's face morphed into a smile. Everyone started laughing. It was pretty much the first time all three of them were happy since they met.

Sarah sat at the dining room table, looking back at the footage from school. It was about one in the morning, but she couldn't sleep. She had too many things going through her mind. Why was Darrron Cross showing up on the security footage? Where is Cassie? Why am I here?

She was interrupted by a door creaking open. Sarah froze. She had no idea who it was. Maybe it was Hope or Hank.

No. They are already sleeping. Nobody came downstairs. Sarah closed her laptop, grabbed a pan from the kitchen, and slowly walked towards the sound.

Without making a sound, she opened the dining room door and peered through.

A man was climbing up the stairs. Maybe it is just Hank.

Sarah walked around the corner and asked, "Hank?"

The man turned around.

Sarah stepped back in shock.

Her stepdad.

She was about to say something, but she was hit in the back of the head with something hard and went out cold.

...........................................................................................

Sarah's eyes were extremely heavy as she woke up. An unfamiliar light was above her: a florescent light that flickered every few seconds, and a soft humming noise came from behind her. She sat up slowly, her head pounding.

A door opened loudly to her right. She turned and saw her mom and stepdad coming through. "Thank goodness you're okay!" her mom exclaimed, hugging Sarah.

Sarah couldn't bring herself to hug her back. All she thought of was the fact that her stepdad was sneaking into Hank and Hope's house. She stared at him, a look of hurt in her eyes.

"Where am I?" Sarah asked.

Her stepdad looked at her and said, "You're at the police station. That was some nap you took."

She still couldn't give her mom a hug. Sarah's mom came out of the hug and asked her, "What is it, sweetie?"

Sarah kept staring at her stepdad and asked him, "Why were you there?"

Her stepdad seemed confused. "What?"

Sarah responded, "Why were you at the house? Why did you come?"

Her mom brushed Sarah's cheek and told her, "You must have been imagining things, honey. He was at home with me."

"No," Sarah countered, "he wasn't. He snuck into their house, someone knocked me out, and now I'm here. Why did you do it?!"

Her stepdad stayed completely calm and told her, "Sarah, I swear to you, I wasn't at Hank and Hope's house."

Sarah believed him for about two seconds...until she realized something.

"I didn't say anything about whose house it was."

Her stepdad said, "I know, but we found you lying on the ground in front of the stairs. Hank and Hope said someone came into their house. I was the chief detective on the scene. Ask anyone. I wasn't there beforehand."

Sarah's head was hurting even more now.

Her mom said, "Look, sweetie, we know Hank and Hope saved your life and took you to their house. They said that you wanted to stay to help find Cassie. We were so happy you were helping them out. Why would we want to hurt them? Hurt you?"

She had her. Why would they? Although, Sarah was very much considering asking everyone on the job if her stepdad was actually there.

She sighed and said, "I'm sorry. I... I guess I was just seeing things."

Of course she didn't believe what she said, but the sooner she could go back, the sooner she could go and find Cassie.

I am on Spring Break, so things should go by quicker.

See ya!!!!
