SARAH:
I sat closest to the rest of the Rogues and I was fairly certain Reina put us that way so she could be closest to Huntor. Which, in all honesty, I was perfectly fine with. I still didn't trust myself around people because of what happened between Huntor and me. Huntor had said that it wasn't my fault, nor his own. That with the power I gained from her, from Khione, would come flashbacks from the past, flashbacks, and old feeling, and with those feelings, what she put me through. How she whored me, made me her whore for the dead for her own amusement. He had told me that Khione's power would always have a price, that with every great power there was a price. My price was those flashbacks, those old feelings, old memories. I felt the temperature drop slightly around my fingers and I flexed them, trying to remain calm. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the girl, Amanda, smiling and rocking back and forth in her throne-like chair. I couldn't help but notice neither her hands, or Huntor's were visible. I glanced to Reina and saw the pure unhidden rage on her face. I almost cowered from her before I remembered that rage was toward Amanda, not me.
"So, what brings you down to Florida aye? I thought you were up in Maryland." "Oh, change of scenery, more sunlight, better entertainment." Huntor waved his hand. "Oh we can give you entertainment." Amanda said cheekily. "We actually just caught new toys to play with, I hope you can stay for the fun." "We'll just have to see won't we." He replied. "Oh trust me." Amanda said, and there was something in those words, something that made me straighten, made me pay more attention to my surroundings. Amanda was planning something, and it wasn't good. "And why might that be?" He asked. "I'm so happy you asked." Amanda clapped her hands twice and the huge doors opened, and four Rogues muscled in Amelia, Becky, Sullivan, and Hailey. "The other Cops are being rounded up, but we caught these idiotic animals easily." Amanda said conversationally. "And they are?" Huntor asked. Why was he acting like he didn't know them? "Oh, my Rogues told me you were acquainted with Detective Amelia and her little nonexistent crew." "Nonexistent, you bitch." Amelia tried to force her way toward Amanda but the Rogue used his telekinesis and yanked her back, the color yellow flying across my tongue. "I don't believe we are." He said. Amanda frowned, then shrugged. 'Well dearest Huntor, the Florida Special Victim's Unit, Amelia, Sullivan, Rebecca, Ming-Huaa, and so many others. They think they solve cases, but nope." "What do you mean?" Huntor asked. She laughed. 'It never existed, it was just a scam. Every rapist was a Rogue and it was so easy to break them out of prison. So fucking easy." "Why is that." He sounded so nonchalant, so uninterested. "Oh babe, let me show you." She clapped again and another woman walked in.
"Hello Lieutenant Soleil." She said cheerfully. "Hello She." Soleil said. Soleil bowed to Amanda, then sneered at Huntor. "Did you not say that your Detectives were working with Huntor?" "I did indeed." Soleil said. "It seems you were lying. Or, Huntor is lying." Huntor shrugged. "Believe whom you choose sweetheart, it doesn't change the facts." Amanda smiled, then, she lashed out at him. Huntor swiftly back flipped over his chair and blocked her flying knife. At the same time, Amelia kicked back and landed a blow in her capture's stomach. She dove in frontof Hailey and pushed back till they were against the wall. sullivan and Ming flanked them. Soleil stepped toward them with two Rogues on either side of her. "You have a choice dearest Huntor." She said through gritted teeth. "Either fight to free your precious Amelia and her child, or, fight us anyway and try escaping." Huntor looked towards Amelia. He actually stared in her direction, and emotions flitted across his face. "GO." She yelled. "We'll hold them off." Sullivan said. Huntor shook his head. "Hell no am I leaving you behind." "You don't have a choice." Ming-Huaa said, her gray eyes clear as day. "GO Or SO HELP ME." Amelia let her sentence hang. Huntor said, "We'll come back for you." Amanda laughed, hard, and because of that, she didn't see what came next.
The blow didn't come from me, but Reina. She jerked her right hand in Amanda's direction and the stone at the girl's feet moved, throwing her into the air like a doll. She rolled and landed, her body shifting. I saw claws appear, fangs, saw horns grow on her head, three on each side. "Ok, that's disgusting, and I've seen some real, disgusting, things too." Becky said. Amanda's voice was gravely and primal as she said, "Soleil detain those, I wanna have some fun with my new toys before we leave." She threw her head back and roared. Then she focused on Reina. "You, it's you who I've been searching for, you aren't going anywhere girl." "Like hell I'm staying here." Reina challenged. "You will if you want to see your precious Veronica again." "What." Reina's voice, her whole body seemed like it had the fight kicked out of it. "She's alive?" "Rey." Huntor said. "Trust me, Amanda is only bating you, trying to give you false hope." Huntor stared in Amanda's direction, "You've crossed too many lines Amanda." He stepped towards her and thegirl, the shifter, the thing, she stepped toward him. "You'll do what?" She asked. "I'll kill you." He said simply, then attacked.
Amanda ducked his first strike, then his second, then the third. I twirled my fingers, feeling the world grow cold. Even in here, clouds appeared. I heard a cold sexual laugh, "Yes, yes, ice, wind, snow." I ignored what, who, that voice sounded like and worked on the snow I created. I spun and snow flew from me in a whirlwind lashed out. I leaped onto the table and remembered Kitana's lessons. "Breathe, feel the dance, command the dance." Fans, ice fans, crusted with snow, appeared in my hands. I saw two male Rogues lunge for me. "Command the dance, feel the beat of the music in your soul." I brought my right foot up, lifting the weight onto my left leg, which was a bit back. I brought my right fan up in a ark as my right foot went into the other direction. The Rogue duked my fan, but didn't see the foot coming. The Rogue went flying back from the kick I gave him. I spun, letting the wind I churned up take me into the air and allowed my body to spin, lifting me over the head of the second, but causing him to loose his own. His head thunked down, blood gushing from his open neck. I landed by Ameia and the other cops. By now, all the Rogues were panicking and trying to get in on the fight. The cat shifter, from the first fight, threw herself at Huntor, fangs bared, but Reina stomped her foot and a large rock was thrown into the shifter, sending her off course. Huntor and Amanda circled each other, "Give up." She snarled. "You can't kill me, you don't have the spine." She growled and threw herself at him. Huntor dodged and swiped his sword across her arm. She yanked to the side, blood gushing. Speedy Gonzales suddenly appeared and threw Huntor off his feet and into the table. Huntor got to his feet and said, "Oh, it's time for Karma to catch you in the ass Speedy." Speedy disappeared, then appeared by Huntor's side. He wasted no time in lashing out, but not with his sword. The boy shouted as telekinetic hands threw him into the stone wall. Blood seeped from the boy's head. "You were getting on my nerve." He turned backt o Amanda. "You brainwashed them, have them believing they have every right to destroy and kill." She laughed. "They're fools, weak minded, idiotic, they deserve to die." The cat shifter stumbled back.
"What?" She asked. Amanda laughed. "All of you are weak, all of you who believe you're above all. The only ones who will come out of this war are the Keepers." Her gaze landed on Reina again. She began to shift again and I saw long tentacles grew from her shoulders, her hips. I felt the spaghetti churning in disgust as those tentacles whipped out for Reina. "Come to me girl." She said in that gravely voice. "Come tome girl and Veronica won't be harmed." Two more tentacles began to grow from her ribs. "Come girl, come willingly, and she won't be harmed." I actually saw the battle on Reina's face, saw her fight with reason and guilt. Then she stepped toward Amanda and the shifter bellowed in triumph. Her tentacles whipped around as Reina stepped closer, as she stepped within range and they enclosed around her. Amanda brought her closer, close enough to hug, to kiss. Reina whispered something into Amanda's ear, and her smug smile, faded, as Reina's right hand plunged into the girl's ribs, with one, of her green daggers.
