KENDRA:
Darkness, emptiness, they laid with me every night, stood in the corners of my cage, in the black of the cell block, despair, fear, and hopelessness hang like a venomous cloud in the air. The moans of th dying, the cries of the injured, the sounds of bones breaking, flesh shredding, muscles tearing, and the constant drops of blood only added to the horrors within the block. But today I was dragged from me cell, dragged from my cell and blindfolded. Fifty paces, have to be long strides. Out the block, left turn, sixty paces, right turn, voices, muffled, behind doors. The sound o a door opening, then, I was thrown through the air and landed on a pallet hay and, and, the smell, oh God. I slowly sat up, my hands chained in front of me, ankles chained. The door closed, I waited. I breathed deeply. Half an hour passed before the door opened, two sets of feet coming in. "We have questions for you." A cold male voice. "Don't answer them, you are whipped, intensely. Answer them to my liking, then you go back to your cell." the door opened again, one set of feet. "Your choice demon." The man said. Then, "Hang her up." Rough huge hands, my arms secured over my head. "Her legs?" "Let her struggle." He answered, then said, "This take as long as you let it." I stayed silent. "Ready he tools. If you don't answer at all, we'll do more than whip you." As if in an after thought, he said, "Strip her." I tried to keep my head, tried to stay calm, "Be Kitana, be the wolf, what woudl she do? What would she do?" But I couldn't help the fighting, the resisting, the sudden fear.
"Who are you, what is your name?" I snarled, baring my teeth, "Like Kitana, I'm Kitana, just like Kitana." I thought. "Give her a taste." The sound of a whip unwinding, then, the slice of air, the crack, then pain over the center of my back. I hissed, just barely avoiding the scream. "What's, your, name?" He asked again, slowly, as if I spoke a different language, or just slow. I bared my teeth again. "Go to hell." I said. Then the crack of the whip. Once, twice, thrice, four times, five times. I screamed, tears falling down my face. "Wolf, I'm the wolf, I'm a wolf." Six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven. Crack over crack, in the same spot at the center of my back. Blood pooled at my feet, pouring down my back. Crack, over crack, over crack, over crack, over, crack. I cried out, pain and fury leaving me. "Your name?" I didn't answer, baring my teeth was all I could do. "We can do this all night." The Keeper said. "G ahead." I said. "Perhaps we should move to a different source of persuasion?" He thought, enjoying the drop drop of my blood on the floor. "Use those." Silence, then feet moving, metal clinking, then, cool metal on my lower back. "What's your name?"
I didn't answer, just hissed through my teeth, more from pain than defiance. Then, the blade, sharp and smooth, sliced deep in my back. I screamed, gritting my teeth. "Again, this can take all night, even all morning." Slash, slice, slash, then, I screamed as it stabbed deep in the left side of my back, blood spilling out. "Your name?" Slash, stab, slash. Then, crack, crack crack crack, went the whip against my bloody skin, my ravaged back. "Let's try something else then, where is Huntor? Where is the Indigo Symbol?" This at least, i could give something, "There isn't one." I choked out. "Lier." Crack crack crack. "That's the truth." I sobbed. "Huntor." "Like I'm telling you that." "Even if I knew where he was I still wouldn't." I thought. "How's her back?" As if asking on how a painting was going, as if asking how the butchering of a cow carcass as going. "There's still plenty of clean skin left." One said. Silence, then, I couldn't stop the cry, as the whip lashed around my left leg. Crack, crack, slash, stab, crack. "I don't know." I cried. "I don't know."
"Where?" I sobbed, blinded by pain, by the multitude of agony. My back ravaged, my leg being torn apart. Then, it was over. "Take her back to her cell, we'll start again after she has time to think. I was hung over. Shoulder, "Remember demon, we can do this for hours. This was only half an hour, we can torture you for hours, days, think on it." The door opening, movement, I tried to think through the pain, my arms hurt, back pulsed and screamed, my eg useless. Then the feeling of the cell block around me, my cage door opening, then cold air against my skin as I was thrown. I landed on my pallet and screamed from the pain of landing on my back. The block doors banged closed. Then, "They hurt o?" Hailey's voice. "Yes." I whispered, my voice horse from the pain of screaming. I tried rolling over, agony sparking anew as bits of hay stuck to my open wounds. "Come here." Amelia's voice.I crawled over, drawing a path of blood. Amelia's hands came through the cage, and slowly picked through my back, gently pulling the hay from it. "They dumped you in shit? Actually put you in a pile of poop?" "I think so, I could smell it." "I'm so sorry." Hailey said. I didn't answer, just moved away when Amelia was done. "What did they ask you?" Amelia asked.
"They wanted to know where Huntor was." I said. "You didn't tel them?" Hailey asked. "No." Silence, then, "You're so strong." Hailey said. "I was a wolf." I muttered. "Huh?" "Nothing, just something I kept repeating in there." "What else?" Amelia asked. "What my name was." "Why?" Hailey wanted to know. "What's the point when they're just going to kill you in the end?" I frowned, "I don't know. "They're going to whip us aren't they?" Hailey asked, and Amelia answered. "Yes. I'm sure of it." "I'm scared." Hailey whispered. "I'd call you a fool if you weren't." Amelia replied. I didn't answer, didn't say what I knew. Didn't say that Huntor would be here, that he, or Kitana, or someone would break us out, would rescue us.
