Nate Maloley

"Just tell me where I'm going." I said frustrated to Hayes, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

"Skate, I'm telling you she isn't gonna wanna see you." He tells me for the thousandth time.

I look over at him. "I don't give one fuck, I want to apologize and if she doesn't want to take me back then so be it. I just was to tell her how sorry I am." I explain.

He sighed and put his head on the headrest. "Turn left at the stop sign." He said.

"Thank you." I smiled and backed out of his driveway.

Hayes came with me to NC to stop me from seeing her, and if I did to make sure I didn't fuck everything up more. He also came to visit.

-

I leaned forward into the steering wheel looking around the neighbour hood Hayes told me to pull into. "This is it?" I asked stopping in front of a trailer he told me.

"Positive." He looked at me with a nod.

I shut off the car and looked around. We were parked on a dirt road next to a beaten up trailer. Across for the way from the trailer was a small park with a wooden bench and some guys hanging around it with a little girl.

"You sure you want to do this?" He asked.

"Positive." I told him and he sighed giving me an okay and hopped out. I followed hopping out of the car looking around more.  The guys at the bench were staring at me, I was on the side of the park and Hayes was on the side of the trailer.

"Can we help you?" One of the guys called out, the bench was probably twenty feet away from me.

Hayes walked around the car and the little girl lit up at the sight of him and the guys calmed down. The little girl ran up to Hayes with a big smile and jumped into his arms as he kneeled down. "Hi, Sage." Hayes smiled.

"Why you here?" She asked pulling her eyebrows together and pulled out of the hug looking at him. "Where's uncle Nash?"

"He's still in LA, sweetie." Hayes told her and she pouted. "He told me to give you a big hug," he huged her and she giggled. "And a kiss." He pulled back and kiss her check.

"Give him one back for me." She smiled and jumped excitedly.

"Sure." Hayes laughed.

Sage, I learned, looked over at me then whispered to Hayes. "Whose he?"

"A friend." Hayes whispered back. She nodded then grabbed his hand and yanked him to the guys. I followed behind.

"Look, look, look!" Sage jumped up and down.

"I see." A dark haired guy said. He did the bro hug with Hayes and so did the rest of the guys. "Boys, this is Skate." He introduced me.

They all went around saying their names but like hell if I'd remember.

"Jai, where's she?" Hayes asked. Jai. That name is so damn familiar.

"Work." He told him. Jai was the first one to say hi to Hayes, the one who said 'I see'.

"It's eight thirty," Hayes said.

"Fuck," a light brown haired boy swore, he looked the youngest and resembled Devon. "Shit." He cover his mouth.

"Swear jar." Sage shouted.

"I know." He sighed. "Come let's get you to bed, Sage." He then walked off with her to the trailer I parked in front of.
