Devon Devereaux

"What's up," Hayes said walking up to the table and greeting Nate, Skeez and Derek.

"Hey," I smiled at them all as I sat down next to Hayes and I ended up across from Nate.

I set my phone on the table so it didn't slide out of my pocket as the waitress took our order. "Can I just have a water, please?" I asked and she nodded giving me a smile then looked at the rest of the boys taking their orders.

"Should be done soon," she said then left going back to the kitchen.

Hayes elbowed me in the side and I already knew. "I'm not hungry," I told him. He sighed. It was true I'm not really hungry plus I don't have money and I know Hayes would pay for me but I didn't want him to, I hate when people pay for me. He sighed.

My phone lit up causing my eyes and Nate's eyes to look since he was in view of it. It was from and unknown number saying, It's Cam :)  we are gonna have to hang out before you leave.

I picked my phone up after reading it and showed Hayes. "Yeah, I gave him your new number." He said glancing at the message and I nodded not really caring.

I set my phone back down, going in conversation with everyone else about the party last night, till again I was brought out of the conversation to my phone. This time it was ringing and said John across the screen. I furrowed my eyebrows at it and got up.

"I have to take this, sorry." I said to the boys then left going out front of the cafe.

"Hey?" I answered worried as to why John was calling.

"Devon?" John's voice came through the phone.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Reese," he sighed.

"What happened?" I said rubbing my temple.

"I'm just worried about him," he told me. "He's been showing up late to the garage."

I sighed thinking of a excuse. "Oh, that's probably my fault." I tell him. "I'm out in LA visiting the Griers, so he's got to take care of Sage and Cole."

"Oh, okay." He said sounding relieved. "I thought he was off the wagon, you know?"

"Yeah, I know." I sighed. "If anything changes, please let me know?"

"Of course," He said. "Happy earlier birthday also."

"Thank you, John." I smile.

"No problem, but I have to go, there's a customer." He said.

"Okay, bye." I laughed a little when he mumbled bye and then I heard his muffled voice as he talked to the customer and I hung up.

I sighed and walked back into the cafe going to our table and sat down, our drinks were already there.

I was having a conversation with Hayes telling him what John said but I was interrupted when I heard Derek, Skeez and Nate's conversation; mainly something Nate said. Nate laughed a little bit and had a smile on his face, "Wait, Derek, did you at least fuck the bitch?"

I turned my head away from Hayes and furrowed my eyebrows at Nate. Hayes nudged me, "Dev', you good?"

"Yeah," I looked back at Hayes with a nodded. "Um, that was it." I said then took a sip of my water.

"Stass," I say and she looks up from her phone. Currently I was hanging out with Stass and Sam and their apartment and currently Sam was in the bathroom.

"Hmm?" She hummed.

"Last night at the party did Nate seem different?" I asked curious.

"Different how?" She asked.

"Just not himself, I guess," I try to clarify.

"Mm," she thought for a quick moment. "No, same Skate that I've known."

"What about Skate?" Sam asked walking back into the room.

"Did he seem different at the last night?" I asked him as he sat down.

"No?" He said unsure. "Why?"

"I didn't know if it was the alcohol last night that made me think he was acting different but earlier when we all went out to eat he said something that, just, I don't know." I shook my head.

"What'd he say?" Sam asked.

"He was talking to Derek, and I quote 'Wait, Derek, did you at least fuck the bitch?'" I quote him.

Sam laughed. "That's him, nothing different."

I sighed nodding.

"She has spent a lot of time with him, with out the guys around." Stass tells him.

"Oh," Sam said understanding. "When you hung out with him, that was Nate and the party and earlier was Skate."

"What?" I laughed.

"He acts different with the boys but when he's with someone that he cares for or likes or whatever, he is different." Sam said. "Skate is a fuckboy and Nate still is but he isn't like, I don't know how to explain it," Sam shrugged opening his water bottle to take a sip.
