Devon Devereaux

"Merde. [shit.]" I cursed under my breath after bacon grease jumped onto my hand.

"Whatcha making D'?" Johnson walked in and peered at what I was making. "French toast and bacon, don't mind if I do." He said as he took a piece of bacon.

I laughed. "Eat up, I made enough for everyone."

"Boys!" Johnson's calls out after placing two slices of French toast on a plate along with a few pieces of French toast. "Food!"

Within a few minutes, Gilinsky, Nash and Hayes were in the kitchen and a few
minutes later were sitting at the counter eating while I continued to cook some more bacon.

"Thanks Dev'." Nash said and then the other boys followed me giving them a 'your welcome'.
The boys were talking but I just ignored them an hummed a random tune.

Nate Maloley

I walked in to their kitchen sliding my keys into my pocket and I cleared my throat quietly. Hayes looked over at me leaving the boys' conversation and just stared. My eyes glanced and the humming and clueless Devon with her back towards us.

Hayes looked at the boys and hit Nash's shoulder nudging his head over to me also gaining the Jacks attention too. After a moment Nash nodded his head towards the door way at the guys and they all got up quietly the Jacks slightly confused as to why.

After they left me and Devon in the kitchen, her still not knowing I was here I though if what I should say.

Hey?
Can we talk?
What are you making?

But some words just flew out of my mouth after she jumped and cursed under breath because of some popping bacon grease. "Careful, babygirl, don't wanna hurt yourself." I chuckled.

She jumped again at the sound of my voice startled and quickly looked back at me. She just looked at me for a moment then turned back around to cooking. "What are you doing here?" She questioned softly.

"I came to talk." I told her walking up to the island where the boys once sat and sat down still facing her back.

It took her a moment but she turned around with a plate with some bacon on it and set it on the island. "About?"

It was quiet. I watched as she turned the stove off and started to pick up stuff on the counter still with her back to me.

"I know what you said." I blurted out. She tensed for a moment then lightly shook her head.

"What do you mean?" She asked softly even though she already knew.

"You know."

She turned around quickly facing me, and looked at me a moment. "Hayes helped you, huh?" She quickly said and start to walk towards the doorway but I got up quickly and blocked her.

"No," I shook my head looking down at her. There was about a foot between us. "Hayes didn't tell me what you said." I told her.

She just stared up at me and I stared down at her. "Okay." She said backing up some and turned around to go to the counter.

Okay?

"That's all your going to say?" I asked after a moment, she went back to cleaning this time washing dishes.

"What do you want me say?" She shrugged and scrubbed a plate.

It was quiet.

I walked over to her and gently grabbed her elbow and turning her around. I looked down at her confused eyes, her eyebrows slight pulled together. "And your Le fille que j'aime. [the girl I like]"

Her eyebrows furrowed more while her eyes flickered back and fourth between mine. Her eyebrows slowly pulled apart and she took a breath in. She opened her mouth to talk but closed the only sound was the sound of the faucet slowly running still. I looked over her shoulder then reached behind her shutting it off while she watched my every move.

Instead of returning my hand to my side I kept it behind her and placed it on the small of her back looking down at her.

She looked down. I placed my other hand under her chin lifting her head back up. Her eyes were gently shut and she opened them.

I closed the small space placing a gently kiss on her lips. She pulled back her eyes shut and she pressed her lips in a line shaking her head slightly in thought.

"Screw it." She said and brought her wet hands up and placed one on my cheek the other on the back of my head and pulled me back down.

This kiss was not the gently and sweet type like it was moments ago. We fought for power in this kiss. Her wet hands from washing dishes were tangled in my hair probably almost dry from my hair while my right was gripped on the small of her back pulling her close and the other hand right under her ear until she was soon sat on the edge of the sink then my right hand was gripped onto her hip and the left on her back.

But before we knew it we were in her room pushed up against the door.
